Bowling Green player punched in handshake line

The heat of competition should not breed such behavior. Take your L, shake their hands and get off the court.

Nick Saban says 'wrong place, wrong time' comment wasn't aimed at Nate Oats

Alabama football coach Nick Saban clarified his "wrong place, wrong time" comment.

"That was strictly about our program. It had nothing to do with anybody else, I don't make comments about anybody else."

Who wins tonight, UConn-Arkansas and FAU-UCheat?

Basketball is back in action tonight and the question now is does the SEC move anyone to the Elite 8 tonight? Who do you have?

Arkansas has more talent than anyone in the Country; however, at the end of the season, do they finally play as a team. UConn has that big front line that tore us up in November, so I have to believe that the key to the game is the play of the Mitchell Twins and Walsh. If they stay out of foul trouble UConn has a chance. If Shows gets this game, the Walton’s will decide the matter in a game that has 60 fouls.

FAU doesn’t belong on the same court as Tennessee, but the question here is does FAU pressure Tennessee’s ball handlers. This could be the first game that the absence of ZZ makes the game close.

I have UConn and UCheat moving to the Elite 8.

What yall think of CNS throwing shade at Oats?

I don't disagree with what Saban said by any means, but he could of worded it a little different if you ask me.
After Crimson Tide freshman football player Tony Mitchell was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute last week, reportedly driving at 141 mph as he attempted to flee from cops, head football coach Nick Saban suspended him from the team indefinitely.

Saban then issued a strong statement that some believed to be a shot at the school’s basketball coach, Nate Oats.

“Everybody’s got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Saban said. “You have to be responsible about who you’re with, who you’re around, what you do and who you associate yourself with, along with the situations

Of the 3 SEC teams left, who is the most important player for the three teams to keep in the game.

We all know that Tennessee was a very good team with ZZ in the game; however, without him they are not capable of winning it all. Of the three remaining teams is there one player that must be in the game for the three teams to make it all the way.

1. Tennessee is winning with smoke and mirrors at the present time and I think they might be able to make the Elite 8, but that is about as far as they can go; however, Vescovi is their only real offensive threat, so they need him in order to spread the court. If he spreads the Court Nkamhoua becomes a real factor.

2. Arkansas is a team of great individual players, but the only one that gives maximum effort is Jordan Walsh. When Walsh is in the game he makes everyone one else better and he seems to come up with every loose ball and put back rebound. Walsh tends to be a little foul prone, so when he sits the other teams make a comeback. Arkansas puts five starters on the Court and at least three would start anywhere else in the conference, including Alabama; however, at the end of the season Arkansas is still not a basketball team, they are five great individual players and when Walsh is in the game they have one guy playing for the team and not himself.

3. Alabama, while the answer might be obvious in Miller, at this stage of the season I am not sure that Bediako/Clowney, whomever patrols the middle is not the most important player, defensively. Bediako allows the other players to play aggressive on Defense, knowing Bediako is going to clean up everything that comes in the middle, as good as Clowney is on Offense, I think his Defense means more to this team and you don't lose a thing when Pringle comes into the game. If we are going to win, Charles has to stay in the game. Of late he is not making the stupid fouls, so maybe he realizes his importance to the team.

The real key to winning in Louisville, is for Doug Shows to get the gig in Madison Square Garden.

That's it blame the ball!

“It’s not the ball- It’s how much damn air they put into them. All of them are like bouncy balls. You can tell no coach or real player aired them up. Only a dumba** administrator would fill the ball to capacity.”

Some SDSU notes

I’m going to post a Twitter thread I wrote yesterday breaking down SDSU so you can get ready for Friday.

I watched 5-6 SDSU games from this year and came away feeling differently about them. The media will point how elite their defense is (5th in KP so obviously is metricly), but watching them I came away a little underwhelmed. People, myself included, thought that they were like Tennessee but I came away feeling differently. I see them as a longer, more athletic Virginia. They grind out possessions, and make you earn it, but they’re not overwhelmingly physical like Tennessee. They will guard you for the full possession, but they do struggle in high ball screen situations. I imagine Alabama will break them down.
