Football 🏈 BoB inept playing calling in the red zone was a flashback to Texas A&M last season

I do not hide the fact that I can not stand having BoB as Bama's OC, but he gives me all the ammo I need to continue to despise his play calling. When Bama gets into the red zone there are not crossing routes, no rub route plays, no moving BY out of the pocket, no motion that confuses the defense. Just line up and ask your players to beat a man one on one in and area that is easier to defend because of the stinking field of play.

Heck on the 2-point conversion plays, why not run a few rub plays to get a man open. If they call the penalty, you just back up and take the extra point, it's worth the risk of the refs calling it because you still have at least 1 point in the bag. I haven't gone back to look at LSU's two point conversion play, but when I saw in in live time, I thought they ran a pick play. That was a great designed play that put stress on the defense. We just hope BY can run around until someone pops open.

Offensive Ineptness

Since the second quarter of the Arkansas game, Alabama's Offensive has really only operated on the basis of the individual in play adjustments of our QB's and their audible ability. We have a QB that is on a pitch count in practice and we call upon him to throw the ball 51 times against LSU and we wonder why he gets arm tired? Think about that and who is responsible?

just 1 game in

our best 5 looked like bradley, griffen, miller, clowney, and bediako. burnett will settle in and be fine and sears has got to quit forcing everything. miles and gurley did not look good. pringle will help off the bench. when our shots start falling, we will be hard to beat. getting welch and quinerly back will help our 3-point shooting. going to be a fun team to watch. roll tide

TRIPLE THREAT: Alabama dominates Longwood 75-54

1) Alabama used their length, athleticism, and team speed to dominate Longwood in every aspect. This is the best defensive performance I’ve seen from an Alabama team in a while. They forced a really good shooting team to 27% shooting and had 8 blocks. They altered a lot of shots as well, and also did a great job hedging and communicating on screens. You didn’t see many guys get lost or left wide open.

2) The freshmen dominated. The freshmen combined for 48 of the Tide’s 75 points. Brand Miller’s debut finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds. While he didn’t shoot the ball well from deep, he has such length and athleticism on both ends. The shots will fall for him. Jaden Bradley, Noah Clowney, and Rylan Griffen all performed phenomenally.

3) Alabama shot the ball poorly from deep (3/28) and committed 19 turnovers, but chalk that up to first game rust and having a brand new team. They had a lot of great looks and several were halfway down and out, but there will be better shooting nights ahead. Alabama dominated the boards 62-35 and scored 48 points in the paint.

Overall a great result against a team predicted to win their conference. A lot to clean up, but you don’t want your team playing their best ball in the first game. Next up is Liberty at home on Friday.

Football 🏈 Everything Nick Saban during his Wednesday press conference

Alabama head coach Nick Saban met with the media for the final time this week as the team prepares for a road trip to Oxford.

— Nick Saban: "With Veterans Day coming up this week, I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank all the veterans that have served our country."

— Saban: "You hope when guys practice well that they will play better in the game. But there's so many things that happen in the game that you have to be able to maintain your individual momentum. ... When an 'oh shit' momentum happens, you've gotta be able to play the next play."

— Saban on Jaxson Dart: "He looks to me like he must be a very bright guy because he does a great job of executing the offense."

— Saban on the transfer portal: "I think it creates a lot of parity relative to how fast you can rebuild a team." Ole Miss brought in 16 players from the transfer portal this offseason.

— Saban on Will Reichard: "I absolutely love the guy as a specialist. ... He's just phenomenal." Reichard became the all-time points leader in program history against LSU.

Football 🏈 'We knew what we signed up for': Players grapple with program expectations

On Tuesday, DeMarcco Hellams spoke candidly about living up to Alabama's expectations.

"We knew what we signed up for when we came to Alabama," Hellams said. "... We welcomed the pressure. We welcomed the standard."

SEC Teleconference (Ole Miss week)

Nick Saban

— Saban: "We haven't been in this position for a while, but at the same time, we've got a lot of pride in what we do and want everybody to do it really well."

— Saban: "When we haven't played well on defense, we've had too many missed tackles and too many mental errors."

— Saban on Ole Miss freshman RB Quinshon Judkins, who is a Pike Road, Ala., native: "We looked at him coming out last year. In hindsight, it'd be great if he was on our team."

— Saban on living up to the Alabama standard: "We work every day to try to play to a standard and we've had a lot of good teams around here for a long time. We lost two games by a total of four points, both on the last play of the game. Are there a lot of things we could do better? Are we satisfied with where we are as a team? Absolutely not."

— Saban continued: "Sometimes when the standard is so high, there may be some occasions where you don’t quite meet the standard and the expectation that everybody has for you. I do think that standard and expectation has not been something that has helped this team focus on the right things. Stay focused on the process, not get so concerned about the results you get, but what you’ve got to do to get the results. That’s something we’ve been trying to emphasize with them.”

Lane Kiffin

— Lane Kiffin says Bryce Young can put a "Superman cape on" and "take some games over."
— Lane Kiffin believes Ole Miss will be tested on Saturday noting Alabama has "great receivers" and a "great running back."

— Lane Kiffin: "It's ridiculous" to say Alabama's dynasty is over. But I understand that's just what you need to do in the media to have something to talk about. ... No one is going to listen if you say the dynasty is still going.
