Soft

Hey guys. It’s been a long time since I posted anything. My wife and I went to the Rose Bowl game against Michigan last year. When coach Sagan retired, I pretty much retired with him. I have lived through the coach Bryant and the coach Saban eras. Hard to beat that. We had a great time in Los Angeles except for the game. It will haunt me forever. Fourth and two. We had them. Reminds me of the 1973 loss to Notre Dame for the natty. All that being said, we have a definite problem this year. Players are pretty much the same but the staff is not. This is not the PAC 12. We are way too soft on both lines of scrimmage. We cannot compete at the highest level based on what I have seen. We need a standard toughness that has to come from the coaching staff. They may not be up to that task. I really dread the Tennessee game next week. I hate those guys. Please forgive my whining, maybe I should just continue with my semi retirement. I hope it gets fixed for all concerned that root for the Crimson Tide. What a run thought that people my age have lived through up to this time.

KJ Green: "I love how calm Alabama seemed and didn’t let the pressure get to them... You can see the passion everyone had for the game and played as a team and not individuals."

Football 🏈 Expectations Unfair?

Are we being too critical of first year Coach DeBoer?
1. He could end up with a first season record that exceeds every first year coach in recent history, including Nick Saban, Gene Stallings, Franchione, Curry, Perkins , and even Coach Bryant.
2. This is almost a complete new coaching staff with lots of new players.
3. Coach DeBoer indicated before the season started that they did not have time to implement their all of their offense and defense. The team is learning on the fly of the schemes that were put in.
4. Every team we play puts maximum effort to beat Bama! It makes their season!
5. We have seen glimpses of great play on both sides of the ball. Inconsistency, yes, and some bad play. Wouldn’t you expect some of that with a first year coaching staff and team.
6. Way too much personal attacks on coaching staff and individual players in my opinion.
Expectations to high? I think so!
