Derrick Henry

Shout out to big Derrick Henry. King Henry accomplished something over the weekend that no other Alabama player has ever done ✅! He crossed the 10,000 yards rushing milestone, becoming the 32nd NFL player to accomplish this feat. If he can stay healthy this year, he has a chance to pass up several other outstanding RBs as he attempts to climb toward the 11,000 yards mark.
Derrick also hit the 100 TD mark becoming the 2nd Bama player along with Shawn Alexander to have 100 TDs or more in the NFL.

The Strip

I know many of you will laugh and think this is silly, but the strip got so bad that it was closed shortly after midnight Saturday. If you were there you saw the SWAT team in the middle of University Blvd. With Alabama's open carry law there is nothing the police can do about all the folks carrying guns. The problem was not Al or Ga fans, and it wasn't students. There are not enough police officers to control this craziness. I live on the East side of town, and I would not have gotten a police response Saturday night. I'm afraid this has become an issue even when there is not a game here. Please understand that should you go out there be VERY careful. It would be much safer to stay away. The last time I posted this people made fun and then shortly we had a murder. Use your head and be safe. Better yet stay away .

Swarm defense = No discipline

i kept hearing every single position group saying this new defense, presents all these oppurtunities to make plays. and i just thought to myself, how the hell can every single guy say this. if it that simple then why isnt every team doing this concept? well now i see what its all about, its about not staying in your role or playing some sort of system trusting another player to be there and make the play. these guys are out here playing back yard football as if they have no coach or direction. so what we done was take out the x's and o's and told these guys go after the ball. dont worry about keys or staying with your man. that why that option killed us. guys was getting fooled play after play, they was jumping at air . pitiful excuse. this whole season is done..... you dont change or fix this in middle of season. we got a used car salesman for a dc. and a oc that wants to be chill and be buddy buddy. bad bad recipe.. dont even mention how weak and terrible our LB duo is. can someone find and heal jefferson . atleast he gets after it

Football 🏈 What went wrong during Alabama's third-and-long letdowns at Vanderbilt

Alabama couldn’t find a way to get off the field during its 40-35 loss at Vanderbilt over the weekend. The porous third-down defense proved to be the Crimson Tide’s undoing as it allowed the Commodores to convert on 12 of 18 third-dow opportunities and chew up more than 42 minutes of possession.

To make matters worse, Alabama allowed Vanderbilt to convert five third-down chances of 5 or more yards.

Here’s a look back at each of Alabama’s third-and-long breakdowns over the weekend and what it can improve on moving forward.

Malachi Moore

Very disappointed in him. He didn’t play good football. Gave up the longer TD. The bigger play was better their last throw in the flat. If he’s there, it’s incomplete or a pick 6 and he was late. But worst, his body language and such. He was constantly talking crap, after he did nothing. And then I saw this video and he sent me over the edge a little with him. DeBoer better get a hold on this loving, friendship culture.

Football 🏈 Kalen DeBoer, coordinators Monday press conference

Kane Wommack to the podium first

Wommack said Alabama's defense did not live up to any of the keys for his victory.

Wommack: "I thought we played too much on our heels."

Wommack said one of the keys to the game was to win the situational battles: "We were not able to get off the field on third and long situations that's something we've excelled at the season so far but certainly did not do it in the game."

Wommack said Alabama's performance falls on him: "We are all having an urgency to get that cleaned up." Said he thought his players had a good demeanor and mindset yesterday and are ready to get back to work.

Wommack said he had "really good conversations with our leadership on defense."

Wommack said South Carolina will be a tremendous challenge but said his guys and the staff are raring to do this week: "I think we're gonna play with a level of urgency that our fans will appreciate and a response that our fans expect."

Wommack said the Tide's defensive end movements on early downs were good, but Alabama did not execute on third down after making good initial plays

Wommack: "They would throw wrinkles in... which kept us in a constant pursuit of what they were doing." And said Alabama not getting off the field allowed Vanderbilt to throw more wrinkles in as the game went on.

On Malachi Moore: "In that moment when emotions are running high — certainly he's been held accountable for some of his actions and the penalty. I think Malachi's handled it really well." Said Moore has taken the level of accountability that Kalen DeBoer has implemented.

Wommack echoed DeBoer's postgame comments and said Malachi Moore has done a lot for this program since the new staff came aboard.

Wommack: "I think we have elements to sustain being a good pass-rushing defense. Right now I think we're inconsistent when facing some athleticism from some of these quarterbacks." Said Alabama did not do a good job of keeping Deigo Pavia in the pocket and gave him time in space to make plays.

On growth in the CB room: "It was the No. 1 key to victory this week was do your job with consistency and phyicialisty." Said doing that can be a struggle for a CB facing an option team. Said Alabama's corners played the ball well at times but were once again inconsistent. "We didn't make the plays we needed to make when the ball came our way as a defense."

On Jaheim Oatis opting out: "My focus is really on the players that are going to do everything they can to help us win football games and that's where my focus is right now."

Wommack

The problem with this team is the defense. Anybody that says otherwise either don’t know 💩 about ball, hasn’t watched the game or is best friends with Wommack. We got lucky the first half against GA. They missed on some plays that were open. I see a defense that’s playing slow….Mentally slow. We don’t tackle worth a crap. We aren’t physical and the Dline gets whipped majority of the time. Wommack is a helluva salesman, because I think we were all sold that this defense was going to be fun to watch. Well, the product he’s selling is coming off TEMU right now. As a defense, you gave up 34 point to VANDERBILT! That alone should be a fireable offense. It’s absolutely pathetic. The guys need to STFU and stop somebody. Quit all the BS running off at the mouth. You suck as a defense. Start getting off the damn field and then you’ll have something to crow about. I’m scared to even think about what Tennessee will do in a few weeks. I don’t care what happened at Arkansas. Tennessee will be at home and be jacked up to play. Hell, I may just have to go fishing or something and find out what happens after the games over.

On another note, I have no issues with the offense. 😂
