Forbes and Gary

I posted about having some guys that you can develop and keeping them on campus and such. Those two guys are the type of guys we needed. It just looked obvious to be that Forbes could be good enough and fit. Gary is the tough type of guy we needed against SDSU. Putting too much stock this portal life can be great but eventually it’s going to bite when you miss on too many in one year. Hoping we can keep some guys around to develop.

Nick Saban needs 'more balance' from Alabama's offense this season

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is looking for more offensive balance this season.

"I think the scheme that we have to run the ball is well tied together. Hopefully between that and play-action passes we can make a few more explosive plays and not just rely on dropping back all the time."

Everything Nick Saban said during his Thursday press conference

On Thursday Alabama head coach Nick Saban held his second press conference this spring. Here's everything he said this week.

— Nick Saban: "We've had five practices now and we're making progress."

— Nick Saban: "If we have better balance, I think we can take a little pressure off the quarterback. I think the offensive line has a done a good job so far. I like what we're doing and where we're headed."

— Nick Saban says Jermaine Burton has a "lot of talent and a lot of ability" but notes need for "consistency in performance," and "holding himself a little bit more accountable to paying attention to detail and doing the little things right."

— Saban: "Mal Moore was really close, a good friend, a great supporter. ... He was the biggest reason that we came here. "It's been 10 years since he's been gone, and we certainly miss him."

Jordan Wright

I am not saying that Alabama or Wright would have any interest; however, he was a thorn in the side of Alabama for three years at Vandy and he is one heck of a player.

Also saw that Joseph Girard from the Cuse had entered the Portal. Someone is going to get an excellent shooting point guard in Girard, even though he is a little on the small side. I would hate to see him at Auburn or Tennessee. The kid can shoot.

One other name that sould be interesting would be Kolby King from St. Johns. He is a quality little PG that came from Florida that would be a good backup if we had a spot open/
