‘It’s always a great day …….

Missing starting point guard and a bunch of free throws were the deciding factor.

Really enjoy watching Notae from Arkansas play. He reminds me a lot of Dazon Ingram only talented.

What are the similarities?
Arkansas missed their far share of wide open threes late in the game. I think Auburn is really good. But I think their schedule has helped them in spots and they are gettable away from their arena. Especially if they freeze their lottery pick out for long stretches.

I agree on JD Notae being fun as hell to watch. I enjoyed watching him last year as well. He does remind me of Dazon Ingram as well……. The way they both have legs, feet, arms, eyes and breath air
Yeah their appearance is the only similarity that I see.

Their non-conference schedule was embarrassing. The best team they played in non-conference might be Murray State. To your point they are a different team on the road. They've only have 1 double digit win on the road against SC, but have had close calls against Saint Louis (4 points), Bama (4), Mizzou (1), and UGA (2). They've drawn a very favorable SEC schedule with no trips to UK or LSU.

I think auburns guards will be their undoing in march. Really good team with 2 unfair mismatches in Smith and Kessler. Those 2 are unreal. Their guards don’t seem to understand that though lol

Dazon was one of the more frustrating players for
me to follow. Like many before him, he clearly could’ve been a lot better player, but his attitude often sucked and he didn’t improve like he could have if he had worked on improving his ball skills.

Poor ball skills is one of those things that just drives me crazy because they are skills that can be improved with effort. Players may not become Steph Curry, but for many players just being average would change their team’s fortune and maybe their careers/lives and they don’t put in the skill work to do it.

Some of the lack is because most coaches have no clue about skills training since it is technical and more akin to golf instruction than just about anything and practicing bad habits/form just makes them permanent.

Player development was one of the most frustrating things about our program over the last couple of decades. Just seemed as a whole our players never really showed significant improvement from year to year.

The Arkansas crowd was electric. Over 20,000 strong. You don’t get that kind of home court advantage with an arena half that size.

That arena was built nearly 30 years ago and has rarely been filled the last 20 or so years. Last night? Sure l/ # 1 ranked team coming in and home team had won 8 in a row.
The University of Arkansas and their fans are much more supportive of their basketball program ( and their baseball program) than Alabama will ever be. Not even close actually. Demand excellence in both sports.
How do I know? Lived in Little Rock for 10 years and attended games regularly with my in laws who were scholarship donors.
A 15,000 seat arena in Tuscaloosa would rarely be filled except against the Barn and Kentucky.

Lol give it a rest. I don’t even agree as the best atmosphere in college basketball since I can remember has been Cameron indoor at 9K. You can achieve an elite atmosphere consistently with the smaller arena. Empty seats are horrible for atmosphere
