Reckon theres anyway we could get the 22-23 roster pinned in a thread at the top? l know we have room for one more, but he can be added later.

Thanks, this would be a big help.

Not trying to be a smarta@# but since it appears you are new around here I'd recommend you head elsewhere if it's basketball knowledge you seek. Mods have pretty much told us we can expect updates on Bryant-Denny soap dispensers before any info is released on basketball and I am not joking.

Thanks from me too, l really appreciate this roster. l love this Freshman class, but with this many new players(true freshman and transfers) there are a lot of unknowns.

Definitly gonna take a little time for them to gel, but we have the talent to make it work.
Thanks again my friend.

My expectations for now from a rotation standpoint, pre JQ returning, would be

1 - Sears, Bradley, Miller
2 - Burnett, Griffin, Bradley, Welch
3 - Welch, Miles, Miller, Burnett, Griffin
4 - Miller, Gurley, Miles
5 - Bediako, Gurley, Pringle

just some different options lineup wise. Not saying we’ll see all of that every game. When JQ returns I think he will obviously be in the mix at 1 and 2, but I’m hesitant to expect a ton there bc those acl recoveries can be tricky. Especially in a run and cut sport like bball.

Millers ability to handle the ball should give us some great versatility 1-4

Don't think Clowney will get any minutes? I hoping that Miles steps up earning starter minutes at the 3/4. Also interested to see Burnett and Sears play.

You show Welch starting at the 3? I don't know that much about him.

BTW: thanks for posting the roster and a shot at the rotation. Got me thinking about bball again.

I would say Oats has the best roster he has had so far and looking forward to this season. Hope JQ heals well and can play by the SEC schedule. Can't wait to see the transfers and the newbies.

Clowney may get in the mix. I think he will eventually be a much better player than Gurley but I think we will want Gurleys experience and leadership in the rotation. I just think Clowney may need a year

I think Welch and Miles could maybe play equal minutes and same role

The player I am most interested in seeing is Griffen. I hope he can step up and get some quality minutes, and be the shooter I hope he can be, and that we really need.

Thanks to all you guys for your opinions and info. Coach Oates will probably do alot of mixing and matching to figure out the best rotation. Lot of talent to work with hopefully we will be really good next year.

We need Brandon Miller to come in and play like a lottery pick, not like a guy that will be good once he figures out the game of basketball. I think a lot hinges on how much we will be able to count on him

Agree, he's a major key. Thinking out loud that Miles "could be" one of those keys also. Two long wings that can score the basketball will be deadly.

I also like what I see on paper with our guards but I'm hoping Q will return in time for SEC play. Another deadly.

Agree completely. If he can play the 4 and be a primary playmaker that we can run the offense through on occasion, that would make Oats' system work with this roster. It would allow us to have Bediako in as the rim running / rim protecting 5 and still have a highly skilled lineup. The play of Miller, Miles and Welch will have a lot of say as to how good this team can be.

As I understand it, the 2022/2023 schedule is not released yet. The schedule link in the top threads is a link to roll tide.com, and that site doesn't have it up yet either.
