Looking ahead to next year’s defense, if we can break off enough NIL money to keep Deontae, Jihaad, LT Overton, and Domani (none currently mocked in the 1st round) from going pro then our defense will finally have the talent at all 3 levels we haven’t seen in a while. That is obviously easier said than done to keep the junior studs from going pro, or the young guys from seeking more money in the portal. It’ll really show what DeBoer is made of since the whole team essentially has to be re-recruited every year, but the defense could be the most talented in the nation if he can pull it off:

LB: Deontae Lawson, Jihaad Campbell, Qua Russaw/Jeremiah Alexander
CB: Domani Jackson, Zabien Brown, DeVonta Smith/Jaylen Mbakwe, Deshawn Jones
S: Keon Sabb, Bray Hubbard, King Mack
Would be our most talented secondary in years, plus we’re adding Dijon Lee who could be the next in our long line of 1st round DBs
