6-4 shooting guard

Another guard isn't what we need. Bama need a true low-post player that isn't afraid to rebound and defend the rim. We've gotten exposed by teams that slow the pace and play ole skool bb. Bama has fared well rebounding and defending the basket.

True, but why repeat the same mistake over and over, loading the team down with guards. Sure, we'll win some games with the quick-twitch guard play, but what about teams like Memphis/Davidson, etc.. who dominate with low-post play? Davidson's game plan was a thing of beauty and we couldn't counter it.

I’m pretty sure we’ll gladly welcome the number 13 player in the country.

If we get more low post players that can't shoot the 3, we get away from what makes Oats different. I sense that Oats has a real problem right now. We don't have enough guys that can shoot the 3 which is the way that he wants to play. But he hasn't taught a patient half-court game because that is not how he wants to play. Hence, we really don't have an identity. Davidson knows that they are a patient, half court team. Houston and Memphis know that they are aggressive, muscular rebounders. What is our identity? And what does Oats want it to be in the future?
