This past Saturday, I had a pretty good view of and paid more attention than I normally do to the interactions between Saban and Kiffin. I thought it was interesting that after the three and out that culminated in the sack of Hurts to begin the 2nd quarter, Saban had a fairly animated conversation (hint, hint) with Kiffin. The next time we got the ball, we ran left side 7 times in a row and scored on Jacobs' one yard run (over the left side). It appeared that Saban and Kiffin could have dialed up the plays that would get us in the endzone whenever they wanted and, like some others have posted, they were working on certain things during the game.
After Kentucky got the ball with 14+ minutes left in the game, Saban went over to Kiffin and obviously told him to put Bateman in the game. Cornwell overheard Saban telling Kiffin this and he seemed pretty excited about it. He went over and told Bateman and was slapping Bateman on the helmet and shoulder pads and jumping up and down. Seems as if Cornwell was showing some leadership and team spirit. Unfortunately, Kentucky kept the ball for like 9 minutes and Bateman didn't get in until 5 minutes or so left in the game.
