After Alabama’s loss at Tennessee, it likely doesn’t change anything for them. They’re still right on that 3/4/5 overall seed line with Houston and Florida, with Tennessee creeping back in. Alabama is likely at the 5 seed right now if I had to guess, but a win over Florida this week likely cements them at the fourth overall seed with the H2H win.

Alabama is locked in as a top 2 seed even if they lose out. Their resume is just too incredible and losing to 3 straight top 8 overall seeds won’t change that. Is there much difference in a 1 and 2 seed? I’d say no. The positive to me as a 2, is the likely 8/9 seeds you’d face in the second round are a lot scarier than the 7/10 seeds. Plus, there’s not much difference in a 3/4 seed you’d face in the S16. You’d just rather be a top half 2 seed and not the bottom to avoid potentially playing Auburn or Duke in the E8.

All in All, Alabama is still 23-6 and 12-4 in the toughest conference in history. They’re positioned extremely well for another deep NCAAT run. Don’t let the last 30 seconds last night cloud your memory as this team has responded very well since losing to Missouri.
