So FSU wanted to play Bama... Looks like they will get to do just that.
Just announced that ALABAMA will play FSU in 2017 in Atlanta:
I understand from later posts in this thread that this may be the first game in the new Atlanta Falcon's stadium.
EDIT TO POST: Here is a link to the design and overview of the new Falcon's stadium.. this looks like a great place to have a game.. it claims it will set a new standard for sports stadiums worldwide... it will take a lot to outdo Jerry World, but it looks like it will be exciting if Alabama play's FSU as the first official game in this new stadium (be sure to take the video 'fly through' of the stadium at this link):

Here's the video of the 'fly through' of the new stadium to watch if you don't want to go to the link. After watching this fly through video I'm ready to buy my tickets now for this game... I'm definitely going to make this one.
Here's the article:

"Well, I think we know what the most anticipated game of the first weekend of the 2017 season will be ... unless something drastically changes.
Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post is reporting that the proposed game between Florida State and Alabama -- which has been in the works for a while -- has been finalized, and the two teams will open the 2017 season against one another in Atlanta.
Which, if you're a college football fan -- and I'm guessing you are if you're reading this -- is awesome news. Not only is this a matchup between two schools that have won four of the last six national titles, and two schools who qualified for the first College Football Playoff last season, but it's also a game that's in the near future.
None of that scheduling for 2025 stuff -- this game is only a few seasons away.
Barring a meeting in a playoff or bowl game between now and then, the 2017 game will mark the first time Alabama and Florida State have played since the 2007 season when the Seminoles beat the Tide 21-14 in Tallahassee. It will also be just the fifth meeting between the schools, with Alabama holding a 2-1-1 advantage in the first four contests.

Florida State and Alabama will square off in the opening game of the 2017 season, the Palm Beach Post has confirmed.
The Seminoles and Crimson Tide will meet in Atlanta, in a game that will pit two the country’s top programs and two of the game’s most successful coaches – FSU’s Jimbo Fisher and Alabama’s Nick Saban – against each other in the type of early-season inter-conference battle that college football fans drool over.
FSU and Alabama last met in 2007, with the Seminoles winning 21-14. The game was the fifth of the Nick Saban era in Tuscaloosa.
