The first quarter, Alabama was the aggressor, attacking the basket. It is obvious South Carolina is the better team, but Bama is down 15-17 in spite of being horrible at the foul line.

Sarah Ashley Barker is keeping Bama in the game. Carolina is just getting to many second chance points. 27-23 half way through second period.

Alabama is just missing shots and taking wild shots. 33-23 with 1:30 left in second.

33-26 Carolina favor at half. Alabama has just had to many empty trips. They have good spacing for drives, but they are wild at the basket. We are playing even with South Carolina, but we are not finishing at the basket. We have had way to many missed chances.

South Carolina opening it up now 48-35, as we just can’t hit a shot. We are being affected by Abrams being out..

South Carolina ahead 48-38 going to fourth quarter. Boston is the difference in this game, as she is affecting Bama at the rim.

65-52 final. South Carolina was just to tall and had to many second chance points. We missed not having a big on the inside, with Abrams out.

Glad the ladies kept it close. Abrams being out made a tall task nearly impossible. We should be able to finish the season strong, as the schedule definitely lightens up now that we have the big 3 in the conference out of the way. We’re currently projected as an 8 seed in the NCAA tournament. Hopefully we can improve on that with a strong close out to the regular season.

I watched most of it. Their size and athleticism combined is just crazy. We played them well. Their 2nd chance points and bench points were unreal compared to ours.

I know it will make a lot of people mad, but I saw a well coached team out there today. They maintained good spacing and had a good game plan. You cannot coach height, as you either have it or you do not. Missing Abrams was the difference in the game. Their second chance points murdered us and were the difference.

It was a decent effort against probably the best team in the country. Not sure having Abrams would have resulted in a win but perhaps closer.
Just think/ Mal Moore declined to hire Dawn Staley back in the day. And now we know the rest of the story.

Dawn Staley would not have been successful at Alabama, as we would not have matched the level of support that South Carolina provided Coach Staley.

How much support did she really get in the beginning before she ever won anything?

South Carolina fans and support showed out in droves when she was hired sure thing champ!

Perhaps/ the administration at Alabama certainly paid zero attention to women’s basketball for about 15-17 years. But Staley would have recruited the state better.
We will never really know.
