Alabama Women win a big one at Missouri and remain within 1 of 4th place Ole Miss with the season finale ahead against Ole Miss and Ole Miss having South Carolina and LSU on the schedule.

Alabama remains projected as an 8 seed

Regular season games remain against Kentucky, Auburn, Vandy, Mississippi State, Florida, and Ole Miss.

Ladies are playing well and are very well coached and fun to watch. That was our 4th road win in conference play. We’re positioning ourselves very nicely for a top 4 SEC finish.

I’ve said it many times… the ladies are well coached. Our inbound plays and plays out of a timeout are really good. Can’t speak to recruiting.

May I ask one question? What do you get when you have a well coached, discipled, competitive team in any sport? What you get is fan excitement, support and attendance. Guess where Bama ranks in attendance nation-wide and SEC conference-wise? They rank in the 60's nationally and 12th in the SEC out of 14 teams. How about 1808 per game average. The average of 11 teams ahead of them is almost 5,000. This a team with a 10 year veteran coach, not a coach trying to get a program started. If you are interested, go Kim Mulkey's post game interview after the Georgia game last week which LSU won, and hear what she has to say about Georgia's coach in her "first" year at Georgia coming from UCF. Mulkey knows just a little about basketball. Bama's women's basketball is a joke! Roll Tide Roll!!

If you take South Carolina, Tennessee and LSU out of the attendance equation, how do we stand in comparison?

CrimsonBill22 While I would not be shocked if this years numbers are much better than 1808, I believe you are using 2022 numbers. South Carolina, Tennesee, LSU , Arkansas and Mississippi State had great numbers last year.

Yes I am using 2022 figures, 2023 figures are not available as yet. To answer your question, without South Carolina, Tennessee and LSU the figures are 3300. This figure is thrown in with Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn, all of whom have been at their school 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year maybe 4th year, with our 10 year veteran coach. If you are happy with the above information, you have every right to feel that way. I think we can do much , much better. Roll Tide!!

Oh, by the way, did you read the Mulkey post game interview after the Georgia game? If you didn't , you might want to read it. If you did, have you ever heard any positive, strong comments regarding our coach like those. And Mulkey knows Curry very well, they are both from Louisiana, went to schools 30 miles apart, coached together at Louisiana Tech, etc. Just sayin'.

And proceeded to score 72 points in the other 30 minutes. Another nice win for the ladies and another miserable night for the Curry haters.
I’m not a Curry Hater. I just hate 10 minute scoring droughts.

Kentucky was 2-8 in the SEC. Stop making this out to be some monumental win. Miserable night? Jesus what a moron.

Are you referring to the Georgia team that we beat last month and that sits 2 games behind us in the conference standings? Just want to make sure that there isn't another Georgia team that I'm not aware of. Their coach may be in her first year in Athens, but she inherited a well established program. Georgia won 21 games last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. It's not like she walked in on a dumpster fire.

I wasn't necessarily referring to you. There are a handful of them on here though, and they are always the first to chime in when we lose a game, but disappear when we win.
I'm not disappearing, I just believe we, with a veteran coach, should be much further along than we are. Our recruiting, our attendance, and the overall interest is way below par. Alabama should be higher up the totem pole than we are in women's basketball. It's always we're young, we have a great recruiting class coming in, injuries have hurt us. Am I saying we should beat UConn, South Carolina, Stanford on a regular basis? No, but we can do much better than what we are doing with the current coaching family. RTR

Curry is in her 10th season in Tuscaloosa. This will be her 2nd NCAA appearance. That 1800 ticket average number? That is tickets sold. Not butts in seats.

As I recall when we had a final 4 team our attendance wasn't any better. I think it's the fans including me who are not supporting the team.

I’m guilty as well. Though I try to keep up with our ladies and watch as many of their games as possible, I have never attended a game in person. Rick Moody had our program rolling before his early retirement. We made a few bad hires after his departure and are finally starting to emerge from years of futility. It took her awhile, but Curry seems to have us stabilized and on solid footing.

The question for me is this. I have no inside info and so I can’t have the proper perspective. Yes, Curry has been here a long time. However, our program was really in the dumps. They were playing in Foster. That was a slap in the face. We had several half effort hires. This team is without question, her best team. The recruiting seems much better. So, were we so far down in minds of recruits that we were irrelevant that we had to steep hill to climb to get over the hump? 10 years is a long time, so that is my quandary.

It really didn't take Curry 10 full years. This is actually her 3rd consecutive successful season. We advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament in 2021, and were firmly on the bubble last year and probably should've been in the tournament again. We ended up making a very deep run in the Women's NIT. Barring a total collapse down the stretch, we're safely in the dance this year. She also just reeled in her best recruiting class to date. The future for our ladies appears to be a bright one.
