Kid Can't catch a break. We would be fine though if he's unable to go, from what I'm hearing Gurley is the clear cut favorite to start at the five position. Depth gets a little thin though with the only other inside guys being Gary and Bedioko, with Gary being more of a four. Lets just hope its precautionary...

I went to the Basketball Camp yesterday with my son. They let us watch practice for a bit. Frenchie was walking around fine without the boot, but he wore it most of the time. Other things I noticed:

1. Q looks awesome. Just has another gear.
2. The team in general just plays so fast.
3. Burnette only missed one 3 that I saw. Very impressive.
4. JD looked good and fast, but he was not able to just drive and dunk. He passed the ball well
5. Holt looked thin, but nice handles and could shoot
6. They missed free throws - made them do push ups every time they did. The whole team
7. Gurley looks thick and I kept confusing him with Gary.
8. Gary caught an amazing alley-oop from Q

All of the kids were great with campers. My son is having a blast. Well run camp.

Ambrose too. Plus, I thought I read something where Rojas may actually be ready for most of the season. Guys like Ambrose get overlooked due to the depth of talent we have, but I think he has a lot more ability than guys like William Devaughn, who was our main big backup on some really good 80’s teams.

what if primo and shack dont come back and we have a couple of guys get hurt?
Different situation we're loaded at the guard position, frontcourt pretty thin if we have any setbacks. Keon Ellis is ready to explode and Nimari has a chip on his shoulder.

Coach Oats on Miles & Ellis:

-Darius Miles is noticeably stronger and faster. After an up and down freshman season where Miles showed flashes of potential in limited playing time, the 6’6’ forward looks to take a 2nd year jump.

-Keon Ellis
looks to make a big jump coming into his senior season, appearing to be a more complete player who, over the summer, has finally adjusted to the D-1 pace.

Ellis looked great and Miles look like a 4, but plays like a 1. He is going to be good.
