I've gone back and watched the hit Dallas Turner put on Jayden Daniels plus saw it in real time, especially with some of the furor I've read about it being targeting, dirty play, unnecessary, etc. I can also understand (regretfully) that in today's football officiating tries to be overly conservative which I'm guessing why roughing was called.
However, I thought it was an outstanding play by Dallas to get to Daniels at a crucial time in the game. Without the hit Daniels may have completed the pass for big yardage. Just seemed to me it was one of those great "football" hits, boom-boom play, almost perfect form.
Am I looking at it through Crimson-colored glasses or am I missing something?
