Amid scrutiny, Miller not….

Guilty until proven innocent. That's the way of the media now days.
I would argue the media, the more national media at least, is more a thing where its guilty... period... until it can't by any measure be anything but innocent. And even then they'll just pretend it never happened because the media has never been one to admit they were wrong. In their view its better to play dumb because admitting being wrong makes them look even worse.

I wouldn’t be surprised if NCAA sends us out west as a 2 seed. I can’t see them rewarding us this season as evident with this BS move.

Any Bama basketball fan that's been watching a few decades should expect the worst from a selection committee. Losing today gives them wiggle room to at least not make us the overall 1 seed. If they do drop us to a 2 they would probably make us a 2 in the South unless they really wanted to make a statement.

But, if we lose on Fri then who knows. We might get that 2 out west opposite UCLA again.

No one who does brackets for a living expects bama to be dropped out of a 1 seed … maybe dropped from 1 overall but bama will be a 1 seed - most bracketologists have us in bham and Louisville

No matter what you think about the incident, it's hard to argue he should be included for an award with this description. Strength of character off the court being the problem here.

The qualifications include: candidates must exhibit strength of character, both on and off the court; ... candidates must contribute to team effort; candidates must excel in both offense and defense; and candidates should be considered on their performance over the course of the entire season.”

This is what has him sliding in draft position. Just an all around unfortunate circumstance.

Great info if the voters actually follow the qualifications. Help me out - does the Heisman Trophy have similar qualifications for " strength of character, both on and off the field"? If so, how did crab legs Winston win it at FSU with I believe alleged sexual assault allegations? Let's see if the SEC has the courage to have Miller win Freshman of the Year, First-Team All Conference and Player of the Year awards! Obviously, he deserves them all!

You could add a lot of Heisman winners to that list. First one that comes to my mind is Cam Newton.

Nice strawman argument. The Heisman trophy has nothing to do with this. Take off you crimson glasses if you are an objective human. Otherwise, deflect on!

0% chance. Lunardi has Bama as the #1 overall seed. Today's game means nothing.

If we play well on Fri and Sat in Nashville then today won't mean anything. If we are still in a funk and go 1 and done with an ugly loss on Fri then back to back losses will be used to open the discussion on which resume has the fewest blemishes. A 2 game losing streak in a 5 game run of not great basketball would not be ideal.

Regardless I can't help but feel Kansas getting beat handily today helped us out a bit.

Wow! Just for your edification (You may need to look that word up), my point is that basically every award has qualifications that are outside of the play on the field/court! Hope that your night gets better!

I would assume the heisman does have similar terminology. It wasn't that long ago Ron Dayne was snubbed for the heisman and most suspected it was due to him having a child without being married. Crazy to think about in 2023.
In some ways I understand the committee's thinking. What happens if you give this man your award and new information drops later that implicates Miller even more than he already has been? Actions have consequences as we have seen.
