On Twitter… going on about how he’s been outcoached for the last month and how he’ll never turn the corner. I think to some degree all fanbases are the same.

Can’t disagree there. It actually depresses me.Twitter is the armpit of society...

Absolutely insane that A&M was left out.I think the SEC was really good this year … not quite as good as advertised,
AU had a late season collapse, count me as one who didn’t think their guards were good enough a la Jared Harper in their final four run.
sadly Texas A& M and Arky were playing the best and only one of them had the opp to showcase it
Not to long ago Pearl was the armpit of the basketball world and now he is a very Rich armpit of College Basketball that found out against Miami that he did not invent basketball coaching! RTRCan’t disagree there. It actually depresses me.

Yup! Miami played a great game from start to finish and they played as a team! Pearl got paid big $$$ and a "until I die" contract extension, so their twittering won't phase him. They went from looking like world-beaters to egg-beaters.Not to long ago Pearl was the armpit of the basketball world and now he is a very Rich armpit of College Basketball that found out against Miami that he did not invent basketball coaching! This years auburn team had a generational talent in Jabari and another really good probable top 15ish nba guy, but other than that they weren’t very good. That final 4 team was so much better at guard and guard play has always won in the tournamentI think the SEC was really good this year … not quite as good as advertised,

I think Kentucky, regardless of their first round loss, was still the SEC team with the best chance to win the tournament. The tournament is such a crap shoot, that if you can just get by one game, even the ones you are supposed to easily win, it can make all the difference. I watched NC State somehow win at the end against a Pepperdine team in the 1st rd in ‘84 that had them beat, and then they went on to win it all. The next year I watched a 7 seed Villanova team win a back and forth game at the end by 2 pts over Dayton in the 1st rd, and then go on to beat much better teams than college BB has today to win the tournament. Kentucky was more talented than both those teams.I think the SEC was really good this year … not quite as good as advertised,

Bama beat Miami by 32. Hard to believe how good Bama was back in the early part of the year.Guards win in March and Many if us having been saying for awhile Auburns wouldn’t be up the task. But i was shocked overall how much faster and more athletic Miami looked. It was comparable to watching Baylor and Gonzaga last year in terms of how different they looked athletically.
But this wasn’t as talented as ever in the right spots. Those little guards they had a couple years ago would have ate this group alive. And in March, guards run the show. They should be ripping Pearl. This was as talented of a team that they've ever had and they fell apart when it mattered. The Jan and early Feb barn looked near unbeatable. Maybe teams adjusted and maybe a few guys being out for one reason or another screwed up their mojo. Whatever happened they folded.
They had a dream draw for a path to at least the elite 8. The best paint protector in college basketball. A generational player that should be top 10 in the draft. A team full of transfers that were stars for the teams they left. They were loaded. If it were a pro franchise it was basically the picture of an owner that went all in on a one year binge with expensive free agents to put alongside the one great franchise player.
Hell, some of our own "fans" are ready to hang Oats for one reason or another and this wasn't even that great of a team once other teams figured out we can't shoot consistently and we're prone to the dumbest fouls and turnovers imaginable.
I agree about the Barns path to final 4. I never liked AU’s guards.. poor shot selection and not a threat to beat you off the dribble oftenThey should be ripping Pearl. That's the game that Miami players said turned their season around. Also, for what's it's worth, Miami only had 7 turnovers total in the first 2 games of the tournament! Let that sink in! We consistently have more than that in the first half of every game! I admit that their players were older, but that's an amazing stat!Bama beat Miami by 32. Oats wasn't mediocre. The team was at the end. After so much promise, too.I agree about the Barns path to final 4. I never liked AU’s guards.. poor shot selection and not a threat to beat you off the dribble often
Oats was mediocre this year … Great wins and a tough OOC schedule; the team didn’t improve and Oats shows a propensity of hanging on to his philosophy. Maybe he will become a bit more flexible
If Twitter is the armpit, there is little doubt that The Main Board is butthole. That place is a cesspool, yet I go there a few times a week. The Main Board is right there with Twitter
How do you grade a head coach that had a losing record his last 25 games any different ? Oats himself would say he suckedOats wasn't mediocre. The team was at the end. After so much promise, too.
