I believe Coach needs to fairly quickly get a eight or nine rotation going. I know no one has been very consistent, but I think it will hurt trying to play too many guys .
When a line up is playing well, I think it hurts trying to get too many guys their minutes. I think that rotation needs to be: JQ, Shack, JP, Herb, Bruner, Primo, Ellis, and Reese--
in some order. Rojas has been disappointing in many ways and I dont think anybody else is ready to play in the SEC. I think if we give the effort on defense like last night, we can at
least be decent on defense. And then we MUST shoot the ball well and out score people.

i think rojas was the reason we came back to overcome a big deficit earlier in the year....I dont mind not having a rotation. You never know what you are going to get from jp, herb, and reese.

I agree except I’m fine with Rojas being in that rotation, pushing it to a 9 man rotation. But, playing Gary and Ambrose right now is unnecessary.

@BBALLSTAN has the right 8 IMO. Except for a few minutes in the second half against Furman, Rojas has given us nothing except a bull in a china shop. He plays hard, but is very undisciplined. I think he played four minutes last night. I don’t want to see him get more court time than that.

I think part of playing those few guys some minutes is to bring constant energy all game with fresh bodies. Playing the kind of defense Oats wants to play all game with 7-8 people is tough.

I get what you’re saying and you’re not wrong. But, he also played well in the first game of the season and is a really solid interior defender. I’m just not quite ready for him to be on the outside of the rotation yet.

Sometimes a “bull in a China shop” can be enough to disrupt the other team and win the game!

I agree. I, like other, have been anxious to see more of Gary on the court so I did a little digging around with season stats last night. Gary is currently tied with two nonscholarship (I think) players for 12th on the team with one 3 point attempt. While I know his minutes have been low he doesn't seem to be flowing with the other players as far as jacking up threes. Not saying he isn't doing the right thing when he is on the court but Oats doesn't seem to have much use for a guy who isn't a three point threat regardless of reason. Maybe the light comes on but it would appear that Reese and Rojas are in that role to stay.

I like Gary on the floor. He is athletic and plays good defense. I do think the rotation needs to be set, though. I am loving Ellis. He plays great defense. He may be the guy that can replace herb next year.

I like Gary, too. But, I do think coach needs to sit one or two just in the name of setting a tighter rotation.
