The ladies won single games against Southern Miss and Mercer, while beating Robert Morris and Longwood twice each. Jaala Torrence and Montana Fouts each tossed a no hitter, with Fouts reccording her 3rd career perfect game. I'm sure some will try to downplay the level of competition, but Southern Miss is 14-3 on the season and Longwood defeated Florida State in Tallahassee earlier this year. Hopefully this is a sign that our pitchers and new pitching coach are getting more comfortable with each other. The bats were hot as well this week, with 3 of our wins coming via the 8 run mercy rule. We have another week of non-conference action before conference play begins on March 18. Our trip to Austin, where we'll play Texas twice this weekend, should tell us a lot more about the progression of our pitching staff.
