Since the measure of a basketball programs success is strictly measured by the NCAA lets see how Bama compares in Grants 6 year tenure.
Keep in mind that the SEC has been considered the bottom end major conference in BB.

UK- Nothing needed hear.
UF- goes without saying
Vanderbilt- 3 NCAA appearances
Tennessee - 3 NCAA appearances and 2 sweet 16's.
Missouri - 4 NCAA appearance in 6 years
Ole Miss - 1 NCAA appearance with a first round win and is headed to its second this year.
UGA - headed to its second NCAA appearance this year.
Texas A&M- 2 appearances and might get a 3rd this year. Also won a NCAA game.
LSU & Ark - no appearances in previous 5 years but are headed there this year to tie Bama. Since both are currently on stronger footing than Bama they get the nod. Bama will be NIT at best next year.

That leaves Miss State, Auburn and SC. None of these programs made the NCAA tournament the last 6 years.

That puts Bama squarely at 11th in the SEC. Pointing to the SEC record and 20 win seasons are only factors that try and conceal the true standing and achievement of this program in 6 years under Grant.
