coach moore ask coach battle to take the job and get the new baseball facility built. they were old teammate at bama and had been friends for over 50 years. coach battle wanted no part of it, but out of love and respect for coach moore and the university of Alabama he reluctantly agreed. he had to donate a large sum of his own money so it could get started in time to be ready for the 2016 season.
he never intended to be involved in a basketball coaching hire. he took on the task however and whether coach Johnson works out or not, he made a good hire for the program. it now appears he is taking the basketball program under his wing. there is talk of bill boards being put up around the state with coach Johnson asking people to buy season tickets. there is talk of moving seating around to attract more students along with things being done to attract more student interest in general
even though it was totally unintended, basketball improvement may end up being coach battles legacy and biggest accomplishment at bama. great men handle what ever is put before them and I think coach battle is truly a real bama man as was coach mal moore.. nobody is saying those 2 men can not make mistakes, but you can never question the love they have and had for the university of Alabama. they learned from the best. they are truly two of bears boys
