I think the last really good game we played there was Derrick McKey team. Was around that time anywayThe BJCC got stupid lucky with their bid to host being a year where they get Bama there as the overall #1 and the barn also plays an 8/9 game. There aren't many fanbases that will travel far for early tournament games and they got teams within a couple hours of the arena. So it could have easily been another mostly empty arena but it will be a hard sellout. And yet I've heard someone complain that the city of B'ham is going to lose on this because no one is traveling to the city with everyone driving to the game and leaving immediately after.
Yeah, the thing no one is talking about is we've had some very ugly games there over the years. Some losses that were strange upsets. For whatever reason we never play our best there. At least not in that arena.
We played there in the 1987 regional. Beat NC A & T in round 1 and then boat raced Ladell Eckles and UNO in the second round. That Bama team finished 28-5, with 2 of the losses being by just 1 point.I think the last really good game we played there was Derrick McKey team. Was around that time anyway
Yep. I went to one of those gamesWe played there in the 1987 regional. Beat NC A & T in round 1 and then boat raced Ladell Eckles and UNO in the second round. That Bama team finished 28-5, with 2 of the losses being by just 1 point.
I hope the atmosphere is as good as we expect. I am a 30 year season ticket holder and have 4 seats on the floor. I’m one of those people everyone likes to hate because we have been accused of leaving our seats empty and affecting the atmosphere. That being said my wife and I never miss a game. The purpose of this post is to tell you all obviously we are excited about post season and ordered every ticket available to us . I was informed today that we get 4 seats to the sweet sixteen and 4 to the final 4 if we make it but none to Birmingham. Unbelievable but I guess typical Birmingham sold out to the corporate entities. I can promise given what I have given to Tide Pride over the years, if I can’t get tickets then those seats won’t be filled with Bama season ticket holder. Oh well, hope bunch of Bama fans hooked up with the corporate folks. There is a good lesson here , the loyalty of the University to its long standing supporters. We are recently retired and they may have just shown me that there are better things that I can use the $10000 I give annually to watch basketball gamesThe BJCC got stupid lucky with their bid to host being a year where they get Bama there as the overall #1 and the barn also plays an 8/9 game. Sounds about right, I was told tickets went to player families and university faculty with the few remaining going to the absolute highest level Tide Pride participants. Oh well , I have a great high def TV with no food or beverage lines and the restroom is always openI heard UA got 400 tickets
I think it's around 18,000 for sporting events. A little more than that for concerts.Anybody know the capacity at BJCC? Four hundred tickets is kind of skimpy for UA with all of its followers.
Thanks. I've been there many times, but couldn't judge the capacity. Four hundred tickets out of possibly 18k seats is definitely low. REC fail!I think it's around 18,000 for sporting events. A little more than that for concerts.
That was the Derrick McKey team that lost to Providence.Yep. I went to one of those games
