Quarterback Blake Barnett is yet to take a snap for the Alabama Crimson Tide, but there is a reason why the freshman is quickly becoming one of the team’s most popular players. After reaching out to a young Alabama fan named Eli, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer, after hearing about him through some teammates, Barnett met up with his new biggest fan at a local high school baseball game.

Eli had the chance to meet a new Alabama football favorite tonight at the Gainesville High baseball game. Right after Eli was diagnosed, Blake Barnett heard about Eli through other Alabama football players. He took the time to write Eli a personal note and sign an Alabama hat and send it to him. Tonight Eli got to give him a #pray4eli bracelet. You can see Blake is already wearing it, much like Blake Sims and Deshaun Watson. It has been such a blessing for Eli to meet amazing athletes during a time that is difficult. Roll Tide are important words to Eli! His Tide Pride grew even more tonight!
