Many saw the news on Thursday regarding Kendell Jones, Rivals100 defensive tackle from Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas. It was reported Jones committed to Alabama. However, he released a statement saying he was not committed, and revealed a top five of Alabama, Baylor, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M.
Jones has not said he will announce a decision at his spring game to this point. However, expect a commitment on May 22 before or after his spring game.
Jones attended Alabama's A-Day game in April. He has developed a great relationship with the coaching staff most notably defensive line coach, Bo Davis.
Alabama is the favorite to land Jones, and we should see a commitment to the Crimson Tide very soon.
Jason Howell of Rivals.com will attend his spring game next week for evaluation and to cover a possible announcement. Jones will compete in the Five-Star Challenge in Baltimore next month.
Jones is a massive prospect at 6-foot-5, 320-pounds. A few things he really has to work on are his flexibility and technique. He is a big, strong and powerful prospect. He just needs to work on the little things which can be improved.
