Alabama
Bama vs. Texas A&M
Alabama is an 18.5 point favorite against the No.6 team in the country. Most would assume taking the Aggies is the easiest money of the year. Texas A&M may cover the spread. They will possibly win the game, but plenty who also believe Alabama will cover the game with ease.

Alabama tends to play at its best when going against high quality opponents. However, Alabama has blown out Texas A&M the last two years including 59-0 last time in Tuscaloosa. Trevor Knight defeated Alabama when he was at Oklahoma three years ago in the Sugar Bowl. This is not the same Alabama team.

There have been some dud games at Bryant-Denny Stadium this fall. That all changes on Saturday. The stadium will be rocking with fans and plenty of top tier recruits. Alabama knows what's on the line. Both teams want to play for the SEC Championship. This game is a big step in the right direction.

Alabama rolls big on Saturday against the Aggies. 42-21.

Arkansas at Auburn
This is a tough, physical game. I think Arkansas has the ability to go on the road and get the W. Auburn's defense will keep them in it. I think Arkansas gets the win on the road.

Ole Miss at LSU
LSU has its offense rolling right now. Ole Miss defense is pretty awful. Expect an LSU win.

Miami at Virginia Tech
Thursday night game in Blacksburg. Enter Sandman will have that place rocking all night. Give me the Hokies at home.

BYU at Boise State
BYU looks like the only team on Boise State's schedule who can knock them off this year.

Oregon at Cal
Mark Helfrich may get left at the stadium if Oregon falls to 2-5.

Wisconsin at Iowa
Possibly hangover from the Buckeyes loss for the Badgers. Iowa could sneak out a victory.

Texas at Kansas State
Another week of Charlie Strong fighting for his job.

N.C. State at Louisville
Can the Wolfpack give Louisville a scare? They could get steamrolled.

TCU at West Virginia
The Mountaineers are 7-0 after this week.

Memphis at Navy
Pretty good game here. I think the Midshipmen get them at home.

Utah at UCLA
Another game to watch in terms of a potential coaching change. UCLA could drop to 3-5 with a loss. Time for Jim Mora Jr. to go elsewhere?

Mississippi State at Kentucky
Dan Mullen and Mississippi State should prob go their separate ways with a loss to Kentucky.

Ohio State at Penn State
This one is not close.

Five-star addition
Another big name to know is Xavier Thomas, 2018 five-star defensive end from Wilson High School in Florence, South Carolina. Thomas is the No.3 overall player in the 2018 Rivals100.

NFL slate

Chicago at Green Bay

Packers win big here.

New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams
I like the Giants to go on the road for the win. Too many playmakers.

Cleveland at Cincinnati
Bengals can beat the worst teams in the league.

Washington at Detroit
Redskins are in good rhythm right now.

Oakland at Jacksonville
Both teams should score a lot of points. Amari will have a big day.

New Orleans at Kansas City
Saints won't win at Arrowhead.

Buffalo at Miami
Bills have looked awesome since the 0-2 start. They will continue to win.

Baltimore at New York Jets
I've yet to figure out if the Ravens are any good. Still think they will beat the Jets. Todd Bowles is likely looking for a job next year.

Minnesota at Philadelphia
The Eagles are going to give the Vikings its first loss of the season.

Indianapolis at Tennessee
Titans pull this one out, and Chuch Pagano won't have a job.

San Diego at Atlanta
Big day for Julio. Falcons are going to win big.

Tampa Bay at San Francisco
Another game to not watch.

New England at Pittsburgh

Patriots should win big with Big Ben out.

Seattle at Arizona
We are going to see some great defense on Sunday night in this game. Cardinals with the victory at home.

Houston at Denver
Low scoring.

Yes, the Indians are going to the World Series
It's hard to believe the Cleveland Indians have only lost once in the postseason. They went 3-0 against Boston and 4-1 against Toronto. I still can't name a player on their team, but they seem to be a team of destiny this year. Now they wait for the winner of the Cubs-Dodgers.

We actually have a pretty good series in the NLCS with the Cubs and Dodgers at 2-2. The bats finally came alive last night for the Cubbies in a 10-2 win in LA. Final game tonight in LA before heading back to Chicago. I think the Cubs win tonight behind Lester and then go on to win the NLCS in Chicago.

Two night of Phish in the books

It was unbelievable night at Ascend Amphitheater on Tuesday. Phish opened the electric night with plenty of crowd favorites and jams. Several of my favorite songs were performed in Set 1 including Cavern, Ghost, Sand and 46 Days. Set 2 opened strong and I believe everyone in attendance was dancing in the first three songs. Then things got interesting...

Legendary guitarist Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead came out to play for the remainder of the set. The place went crazy when they started off with Samson and Delilah. Gratefull Dead originals West L.A. Fadeaway and Playing in the Band were also great. When I go to Phish shows I want to hear Phish. It's cool when they bring other guests out to perform. This was just different. This was Bob Weir so it definitely was something completely awesome to see. Phish ended the night with Quin The Eskimo originally by Bob Dylan. It's been a song in Phish's catalog for a long time. They played it extremely well.

We kind of expected vintage Phish on Wednesday night after hearing several Grateful Dead songs the night before. Phish didn't disappoint. The first set concluded with Tube followed by a Rolling Stones cover 'Shine a Light'. The second set had six songs which included favorites Tweezer and Harry Hood. We got a Tweezer Reprize at the end.

The second set was so much high energy we decided to bar hop throughout downtown Nashville for a while. Good times in the city. Now it's on to Tuscaloosa for another spectacle come Saturday.

Food on the road

Prior to the Phish show on Tuesday night we hit up Martin's BBQ on 4th Ave. Very cool spot. A lot of friends told me it's the spot to go before shows the amphitheater. Beef brisket and dry rub ribs were spot on. My group ran into a few different people we knew so we realized the place was sold for pre-gaming. I'll recommend to anyone who heads to Nashville especially if you are going for a concert at Ascend.

We hit up Acme Feed and Social prior to the concert on Wednesday night. Very loud, busy spot on the corner of Broadway. Food was decent. We made a pit stop into Tootsies before the start of the show. Always a good time there.
