College Slate
Virginia Tech at Pitt (Thursday)
Sneaky good Thursday night game.
Cal at USC (Thursday)
USC has been playing well lately. Clay Helton seems off the hot seat especially with a win tonight.
Navy at South Florida (Friday)
Another very good game.
Florida/Georgia
Gators defense will prevail.
Auburn at Ole Miss
So Ole Miss opened as a 1 point favorite. Auburn now -4.5. Auburn will run all over the Rebels.
West Virginia at Oklahoma State
Upset in Stillwater? I don't see it happening.
Baylor at Texas
Final game for Charlie Strong?
Washington at Utah
Will the Huskies continue to roll? SLC is a tough place to play.
Nebraska at Wisconsin
We find out if Nebraska is for real after a cupcake special thus far.
Clemson at FSU
Clemson will score a lot of points.
Seriously what's LSU thinking?
I'm not totally against what Leonard Fournette said. He was simply asked fact or fiction will LSU beat Alabama. What was he supposed to say? Fiction. Maybe he could have said we'll see what happens. Not opposed to what he said.
LSU DB Dwayne Thomas saying they will dominate the No.1 team in the country is a little out there. Last time LSU said they would dominate Alabama I don't think they crossed the 50 yard line in the national championship game. Coach O also seems to enjoy talking. You don't see the No.1 team in the country or the head coach running their mouths. Business as usual in Tuscaloosa. Plenty of locker room material for the Crimson Tide. Not a good thing to do for opposing teams.
World Series heading to Chicago
The Cubs secured a big win last night in Cleveland to even the series. Now the game shifts to Chicago on Friday night. Ticket prices are completely ridiculous. Standing room only for $3k. Can't afford to go to the game? No problem. Bars in Wrigleyville have $250-300 cover chargers. Insane. I still think Cubs in 7.
NFL slate
Jacksonville at Tennessee (TNF)
Yeldon, Henry, Warmack, Fowler.
Washington at Cincinnati
I think Washington gets the win on the road.
New England at Buffalo
Buffalo defeated the Patriots earlier this year without Tom Brady. Tough game on the road, but Patriots get it done.
New York Jets at Cleveland
Both teams don't have a QB. Run game should prevail for the Jets.
Detroit at Houston
Osweiller is so garbage. 70 million? Really?
Kansas City at Indianapolis
KC gets the win on the road.
Seattle at New Orleans
Seattle's offense comes back to life after the pitiful Sunday night performance.
Oakland at Tampa Bay
Raiders are a lot better than TB.
Arizona at Carolina
Carolina's secondary gets torched again
San Diego at Denver
Chargers steal one in Denver somehow.
Green Bay at Atlanta
Falcons couldn't stop Phillip Rivers last week. How will they stop Rodgers?
Philadelphia at Dallas (SNF)
Can't wait to watch this game. Dallas wins at home.
Minnesota at Chicago (MNF)
Vikings defense will get Minnesota back on the winning track.
Did you know NBA is back?
So the NBA started back this week. Who really cares, right? Golden State's new look team with Kevin Durant were blown out by 29 points on Tuesday. LeBron is still LeBron. Cleveland is going back to the Finals if all remain healthy. Anthony Davis scored 50 points on Wednesday night. Pelicans still lost the game. Early MVP watch- James Harden had 34 points and 17 assistants, Russell Westbrook with 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists
Any plans for Halloween?
Ok so I'm still at the age where we go out to bars on the weekend dressed up for Halloween. No, I have no idea what my attire is yet. Though my friends want to do something as a group. I used to think it was very dumb for people my age to dress up, but quickly realized I was in the minority for not doing it. It's quite a spectacle especially in the Lakeview district in Bham.
Quick Cowboys update
Most of you have followed my posts this fall regarding my third grade football team- The Cherokee Bend (Mountain Brook) Cowboys. We won our playoff game on Tuesday night. A great come from behind victory which was sealed with a pick six late in the game.
We enter the semi-finals on Saturday morning with a game against the Bills. A team which we defeated during the regular season. It was one of their only losses of the year. They are considered the second best team in the league. We are the No.3 seed.
It's crazy to think we are scouting third grade football and evaluating game film, but this is taking place. We know everything about the Bills. We just have to go out there and execute. A win puts us in the Super Bowl next weekend. So basically the parties leading up to the Super Bowl (if we make) could be epic.
