The commitment
Jaquan Yulee,
four-star linebacker from Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Va., announced his commitment on Monday evening to the University of Alabama. It was unclear if Yulee would announce for Alabama or decide to stay closer to home. He was given the green light to commit.

Yulee was recruited by Alabama outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi. Coach Lupoi developed a great relationship with Yulee and his family throughout the process. Yulee visited Tuscaloosa during the spring with his family, and fell in love with Tuscaloosa along with everything associated with Alabama. The entire family signed off on Alabama as the school for all.

Yulee also strongly considered North Carolina and Virginia Tech.

The player
Yulee is a terrific inside linebacker. He's a great tackler who is very active and competitive on the field. He's always seem in the right place. He makes plays and can lay some big hits. He still needs to improve covering guys in space, and read plays a little quicker. Yulee was rated the No.5 linebacker on the Rivals Camp Series circuit. The review stated, "Yulee has done a great job of keeping his weight down and getting faster and it showed in Richmond. He was able to run with running backs and tight ends and has the ability to be a solid defender in the middle of the field."

The numbers
Alabama has two linebacker commitments in the 2016 class- Jaquan Yulee and Christian Bell. The numbers may go a little bit higher than expected with Alabama's need of interior LBs in this class. Alabama may go as high as five linebackers in this class (my guess will end up with four) without counting Bell as one of the numbers. Please don't get confused, Bell is still going to Alabama. I'm just speaking of guys who are currently in high school.

Alabama still wants all three in-state targets. Lyndell Wilson, five-star from Carver High School in Montgomery, Ben Davis, five-star from Gordo High School, and Erroll Thompson, three-star from Florence High School. Wilson and Davis plan to wait a while before announcing a decision, while we may see some increased pressure on Thompson to go ahead and pull the trigger in the near future with Yulee on board.

Alabama will host Dontavious Jackson, four-star linebacker from Elisk High School in Houston, Texas, this weekend. Some other prospects still out there Alabama will continue to recruit like Elysee Mbem-Bosse, four-star linebacker from Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga., Antonneous Clayton, four-star linebacker from Dooly County High School in Viena, Ga., and Tre Lamar, Rivals100 linebacker from Roswell High School in Ga.
