Here are some comments from Willie Allen, Rivals100 offensive tackle from John Curtis Christian in River Ridge, La., following his visit to Alabama this weekend. Allen does not do many interviews via phone. Bryan Matthews of AuburnSports spoke with him as he was leaving Auburn's campus on Thursday afternoon, and collected a few quotes about his trip to Tuscaloosa.
How was the visit?
"It was pretty good," Allen said of the trip to Alabama. "They have a whole bunch of guys, but every place is a powerhouse. I really enjoyed my time there.
What stood out?
"It’s just like a machine there," he said "They work you, you sleep, wake up work again, and class. That’s what really stood out, the work ethic. You have to have a work ethic to be at Alabama."
Thoughts about Coach Saban?
"He’s a good guy," Allen said. "That’s all I have to say."
Schools you are considering?
"I have no idea yet," he said. "Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Florida State, Nebraska, UCLA, Tulane, I’m open. I’m still taking my visits. I’m going to wait it out until signing day.
Pressure to stay in state?
"I don’t pay any attention to it," he said. "It’s my decision, It’s not theirs. They don’t have to lay their head down in the dorm room, I do. I don’t listen to it."
What are you looking for?
"Faith, family and football, wherever God leads me," Allen stated. "I have been praying for wisdom and understanding. That’s what I’ll base my decision on."
