It’s February so it’s bracketology time!! This year is obviously an easy one for bracketology, because there’s no drama for this team.

Barring an epic collapse, Alabama is a lock for a top 4 seed at minimum. Right now, it’ll be very surprising if they fall below the 2 line. They have a greater than 90% chance at a 1 seed.

Metrics:
KenPom: 4
NET: 3

Quad Records:
Q1: 6-3
Q2: 5-0
Q3: 5-0
Q4: 4-0

Strength of Record: 2
NET SOS: 17
Non-Con SOS- 9

Alabama is as strong as any in the metrics. Their predictive record by KenPom has them finishing 16-2 in SEC. If that happens, they’ll likely be locked into a 1 seed at the end of it all

These are fun, and I am glad you do them Jordan, but I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself with optimism. We have a much tougher schedule coming up, and the SEC tourney. All that said, outside of the 1st rd, and possibly the 2nd, seeding, in the end, doesn’t mean as much as some put into it. How is the team performing come March is bigger, and not getting unlucky by facing a tournament Providence shooting night, or in our team’s case, an anti Providence shooting night, is what matters most. Just my thoughts, but this sure has been fun this year so far.

I’m assuming that Tennessee is one of our projected losses. Is A & M the other?

Every bracket has us in Birmingham at #1. If we were a 2 seed could we still go to Birmingham? Or would Greenville be our likely destination? Obviously a lot of bball to be played so all this could change.

To get to Birmingham we must be a #1, #8, #9 or a #16 so if we are in Birmingham and are anything but a #1 the season would have had to have taken a major major turn in the wrong direction my friend.

ROLL TIDE MOBILE BAMA!!!!

Pardon my ignorance but is that an established fact? I've long thought that these regional sites are given to local teams that are higher seeds and not just predetermined to host particular seeds. In other words Bama could still get Bham if they are a two seed and Bham would then also host the 15, 7, and 10. Am I wrong??

That's what I thought as well. @budog follows college basketball pretty closely, so he may know something that we don't.

What I am going by is if you go to the Joe Lunardi Bracketology page you will see that the 4 games he has scheduled for the first round in Birmingham are the #1 vs #16 and #8 vs #9 in the Midwest and the #1 vs #16 and #8 vs #9 in the East.

Now when I first saw this I thought that it made absolutely zero sense to me and it had to be wrong, but when I went back in previous tournaments I saw that it has happened many times before.
By no means am I stating it as fact, I am just going by what JL has on his site.

You may be correct. Currently in the Midwest bracket he has Bama as a 1 in Bham, Kansas as a 2 in Des Moines, and Virginia as a 3 in Greensboro. Let's say Bama's season falls apart and now they are the 3. The committee isn't going to punish Jayhawk fans by making them now travel to Birmingham and send Virginia to Des Moines. Kansas will be the one seed in Des Moines. Or at least that's my thinking.

I may be totally wrong here, but I think teams who are 1, 2, or 3 seeds are generally rewarded for their outstanding seasons and sent to first round sites that are closest to their campus. Even if we fall to a 2 seed, the 1 seed in our region would be sent to the host site that is closest to them, and we would still be in Birmingham.
