Brandon Miller has received threats, accompanied by extra security

Sounds like it is about time to go on the offense and file some lawsuits against some of the media.
Lawsuits against the media are not going to protect Brandon Miller from the evil that I fear is involved with this case. In this case it is time for the Tuscaloosa County DA to step in and release all of the facts and let the public see the video. The problem with that solution is that the release of this information could jeopardize a valid criminal case, if the facts are as Mr. Johnson alleges, so I know the Tuscaloosa DA cannot do what is necessary.

I am not going to accuse Mr. Johnson, the deceased women's family or anyone associated with any gang that may or may not be involved of being involved in the threats against Brandon Miller; however, does anyone believe that Mr. Davis, Mr. Miles, Mr. Bradley and Mr. Miller were not in serious jeopardy immediately prior to the shooting on the night of the murder.

I have always believed from the facts presented, that the possibility existed that Mr. Johnson intended to ambush Mr. Miles and Mr. Davis, immediately before the shooting. I am not saying that is what happened, but I am saying it was a possibility. (I do not have enough facts to decide one way or the other.) The facts are that Mr. Johnson waited for Miles and Davis to leave the Bar and approached Miller's car from the rear, after Miles and Davis left the Bar, with his lights off. I know a lot of people approach other cars with their lights off at 1:41 a.m. in the morning. (Could be a coincidence) A lot of people are driving around at 1:41 a.m. in the morning with loaded pistols and loaded cartridges. A lot of people out there that are witnesses to a gang shooting have to be concerned about retaliation from gang members, and I hope I am 100% wrong about Mr. Johnson and that this was not an ambush by a gang member/hood/thug.

I cannot think of any reason anyone not associated with the deceased family, a related gang, and/or Mr. Johnson, would be threatening Mr. Miller and I do not doubt for a second that Brandon Miller is not in jeopardy in Birmingham. I am glad that he has security; however, it is hard as heck for Body Guards to protect a 6'9" young man from hoods that have no value for human life, in an open carry State. If Brandon is walking across the breezeway from the Hotel to the BJCCC and a hood carrying a loaded gun is displaying the gun nearby, in Alabama the BPD has very limited authority to stop and question the person carrying the firearm, until he does something illegal.

I will not even guess if any of your thoughts are on point @Vaughnbama. I will say that fact one is Brandon Miller has been charged with no crimes and the Tuscaloosa DA says he committed no crimes to be charged with.
Then the media storm came in to twist words and painted a guilty target on him and have continued to target him as the center of this murder.
That media focus stirs these kind of threats. American journalist and American journalism continues its huge decline on truth. They are more agenda focused now.

While I don't disagree with one thing that you say, the law is highly protective of the media. Brandon Miller is somewhat of a public figure and to win a defamation/slander legal action, malice is going to have to be proven. Yes, there is a twist of words in this case, as while it is accurate that Brandon Miller transported the weapon to the scene of the incident, there is 100% no evidence that he knew he was bringing the weapon. It would be like the first person that brought COVID from China, Italy or wherever to the US, being accused of transporting COVID to the US. Yes he transported the illness/weapon; however, there is absolutely no culpability. Some of the media have been very careless with their use of words.

When there is one media outlet that acknowledges that they intentionally lie to the public for fear of what it will do to ratings, you might say that at least one media has severe problems, you don't sanction all media for one bad apple. Now, I will say that I often listen to Fox, CNN and MSNBC back to back and I often wonder if the three of them are even on the same planet.

The media dragging Miller's name thru the mud unfairly at the beginning of this thing and in some cases still are has brought out a lot of crazy people. Probably none of them have connections or knowledge of this case, but they are making threats.

Hell of a world we are living in here today.

CNN has also gotten in on the act. They devoted several segments to Brandon Miller yesterday. They made every attempt to sensationalize Miller's involvement. The host, Laura Coates who is a lawyer by trade, emphasized Miller's bringing the gun to the scene as though he had intent. She failed to mention that based on current information available to the public, Miller had no knowledge he was transporting the weapon, nor the intent of Davis. We all have unanswered questions, especially concerning Mr. Johnson. That is why I have decided to wait on the facts presented at trial before passing judgement.

This is on the zero integrity B'ham mediots (or editors) that first reported on this bond hearing and cherry picked the few nuggets that would get the clicks and views. They framed the story and by being the first and initially the only source on the new version of events no one really questioned it until opinions were locked in place. Then national sensationalists like Travis took that and ran with the whole theme that Miller was some gang banging thug that set the whole thing up, handed the shooter the gun, blocked the victims in, and drove them away.

The whole mess since then is a textbook case of a lie or misrepresented truth getting around the world before the actual truth is even out of bed. Of the many things wrong with news today the worst is the dogged refusal to acknowledge they were wrong.

Too many folks out there still really only know the wild versions of this story from Travis and his ilk and ignored everything released since those first articles. Hell, I've heard FOGs that are right there with Goodman in believing the basketball team should've been shut down the day after the first event. Pointing out the facts don't matter after they're already dialed in on an inaccurate version of events. I mean, can't have a side distraction sport besmirch the good Crimson Tide brand right?

The same FOGs are probably wearing some flavor of blue this week be it for Duke or UK or Kansas.

Why wait for the facts, when you can immediately convict people. If our media today existed during the Salem witch trials, they would have ran out of stakes to burn people on.
