TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Following Alabama's win over Mississippi State, Alabama freshman Brandon Miller has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Miller has now won SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
The 6-foot-9 freshman from Antioch, Tenn. notched his second straight double-double and third of the season, scoring 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds in the Crimson Tide's win over No. 21/20 Mississippi State. The freshman was efficient on offense against the Bulldogs, shooting 46% percent from the field (7-15) and 50% from beyond the arc, making a game-high five three-pointers.
