Burnett

Wasn’t that. Just not a good fit and didn’t get playing time behind some really good guards
I know we’ve been down this rabbit hole before, but one thought would be to put in work and try to earn PT. Anyway, hope we get him.

I don’t disagree, but I would not view JQ and Burnett as similar skill sets when categorizing players.
very true--Oats is going to need to play J.D. Davidson and J.Q. at the same time for a lot of minutes. i am sure he will. also have Primo, ellis and Shack as off guards or wing players. we all think miles will develop into a good player.

JQ will not get drafted this year or next year so he would not leave for that. I think he will leave after next season because of age and to pursue something else in basketball

You think JQ has zero shot at the next level? I get he may not be a lottery pick right now but if continues to play at the level he’s currently playing you have to think he may have a shot

Size, lack of athleticism, his age (23 is considered the start of an NBA player’s prime). Now do I think he would be okay if he got a chance? Sure I like him a lot. However, unless you are elite in a specific area (Like Kira’s speed or Sharife Cooper’s vision and passing), then NBA teams likely won’t take a chance on someone of his size. I think he would be an excellent player overseas or even get a chance in the G League.

Trevor Releford would be the perfect example

There have been small players that have made it to the NBA and most have been mentioned before. Chris Paul is a good example of a modern player and he’s one of the best passers of all time, in college and pros. He used to be an elite level shooter as well. JQ isn’t close to Chris Paul’s level, but that’s the kind of player you have to be.

Dunno if I agree with lack of athleticism. Unless you would put handles under another category. Dont disagree with anything else. But no matter the size if you can get by one on one defense to create a shot for yourself or teammates NBA will want that. And hes proved he can do that specially late in the season. I think hes a top 15 pick after next year. If he can get that mid range jumper above 50%...like a Chris Paul as you mentioned...somebody will take him. Guy has finally got a full season under his belt and won the conference tourney MVP. He gets better and more mature and I think hes the 2nd most important player in this run, second to only Herb staying outta foul trouble and keeping the defense together.
