first off PLEASE do not think I am bashing jake or any other player. I do not do that. I am pulling for the best man that gives us the best chance to win period. I was not sold on jake last year and ya'll know that and I still am not. here is why

let me say that being a 3-star does not mean you can not be a great player. I know that so nobody has to come with a list starting with marcel daruis and I know all that. I know

1-- jake was rated a 3-star player by every major service in high school. 3 of them he was a low 3-star. no service saw any greatness in him in high school

2--other than F.S.U. he was not heavily recruited by any other major conference schools until late in the process his senior year. after missing on some other guys he did receive some late offers from bigger schools including us. he stuck with his commitment and that showed character, but he was never at the top of any major programs list, so the staffs of most of the bigger schools did not see anything to lead them to believe he was great

3-- now I know he played behind two great q.b.'s at F.S.U., but he was there 3 years and never played a meaningful snap. where phil savage and all the e.s.p.n. folks got all this info about how great he was I do not know. my son put together a vedio of every play jake played while at F.S.U. including the spring games. I watched every down he played twice before he got here last year and I said on here that I did not see the greatness every one else did. I was told that folks were gonna take the experts word and not mine and hell I did not blame them.

4--I was told on here--saban does not bring in people from juco or late transfers unless he knows they can start last year. I started a thread and named about 15 players (none qb's I know) that came from juco, prep school, or transferred that never played much, but it did not get a comment

he may end up being our starter and he may be an all-American. I think he is older and if he wins the job he will do a good enough job for us to win. I will be his biggest supporter. I never thought he was a lock to win the job last year and I knew he was not going to the N.F.L. after last year

any way-- it will be interesting again this year and may the best man win. I thought bateman had a 33% chance last year and I was wrong. I think cornwell has a 50-50 chance this year
