And I'm not talking about just running more plays or spread offenses. Those are parts of it. But I'm thinkin that either quarterbacks are better or coaches are just much better play callers now a days. Teams throw the ball more often and with more success. I watched the tamu game where we lost and Johnny was throwing dimes on us. him scrambling and throwing up prayers was a small part if it. Then u look at what trevor knight did to us. and I don't know what the answer is. I know one thing that on passing downs the d line has to blow up the line and get in the backfield and not mush rush. Now I know u have to maintain Gap integrity on runs so I guess u have to guess right. But we have gone to a lot of nickle and dime and I haven't really seen us get better at defending the pass. It's gone downhill since 2012. I'm not sure if its the personnel we have had or if this is just how it's going to be. But I think that saban has a plan and we should see some difference this year. Maybe it's the d line getting pressure or maybe it's the right dbs. I don't know but o think we see a different defense this year
