As far as QB’s and what I’ve seen thus far this year, our best two quarterbacks next year (future) will be Dylan Lonergan and Julian Sayin,

Being at this years A-Day game, Lonergan looked to have the confidence, presence and highest potential of our current QB’s. But, he’s a true freshman and further down on Saban’s totem pole. It’s obvious Saban doesn’t want to burn his redshirt and if he put Dylan in a game now and he performed well then fans would demand to see more of him. In other words, this crazy quarterback controversy we find ourselves in now would only grow exponentially. The problem is Milroe and Simpson just can’t seem to separate themselves enough three games into this season.

Then, we have Julian Sayin coming in next year and if anyone has watched what he can do then you know he’s going to be in the conversation next year even as a true freshman. Every camp competition he balls out….. can make all the throws and probably has the accuracy potential that Mac Jones showed his Senior season.

If either Milroe or Simpson can’t hit a much higher level of play very soon and firmly establish themselves as “the guy,” then this will end up being one of those transition seasons for Alabama where Saban will have to later make some hard decisions about coordinators and assistants and be the “big bad wolf” that he used to be when he had to. But will he??? Will he continue having to settle on second and third choices after interviews and offer turndowns to assistant coaches? Will he continue starting players based on loyalty over better talent like we’ve seen in cases in recent years?

Got a feeling with the arrival of Sayin and with a probable sophomore emergence of Lonergan next Spring, we could have “Act II” of this QB soap opera.

I’m beginning to wonder and losing some confidence whether our coaches will have the gumption to play the cards they’ll have laying on the table before them? If they’re not careful, the transfer portal (Lonergan?) may call their hand on that. Just not sure if they’re playing poker or chess…and/or will they make the right moves anymore….. hope I’m wrong.

Just my ramblings, thoughts and concerns…
