In game one, Michigan v. TCU, I saw the superior more talented team give away a game based on poor coaching. Somewhere early in the game, Michigan decided to chase points, forgetting that they had a superior offensive line and a game manager/athlete at QB. On first and one from the one, you run a read option play, giving the ball to your fullback Instead of a straight call to your tailback? Result a fumble. On fourth and six from the six, you call a trick play rather than kicking the field goal. Two pick sixes On long developing pass plays. When you give away 24 points, I am sorry but that is coaching. Dykes got the most he could get from a team with inferior talent.
In game two we saw a replay of the 2021 National Title Game. In 2021 we saw a team with an inferior defensive backfield suddenly become adequate, when the other team lost their most dangerous offensive weapon. Alabama with Metchie and Jamo beats Georgia, easily. tOSU wins the game by two touchdowns With Harrison in the game. We saw that the total offense numbers in the LSU-Georgia game were typical and no fluke. I am not saying that Alabama would have ever beaten Georgia this year, but I am saying that Georgia has a little over a week to fix their secondary or TCU has a chance. The UGA secondary is the weak link and yesterday we saw a team that was extremely lucky to win. Oh! But did I see the reason Alabama was not in the playoffs, a missed last second football.
Yesterday, Alabama was better than all but one team in the playoffs. The only team that would have beaten Alabama was the Ohio State Team that played the first 50 minutes against Georgia. a few weeks ago I said that the Heisman Trophy was a joke, as the best player in College Football was not at the ceremony. After yesterday, we know that Marvin Harrison,Jr. is the most important player for tOSU and I would submit that he was the best player in college football this season.
