A few notes: in recent weeks, Wallace Gilberry (Detroit) and Vinnie Sunseri (New England, practice squad) have been released. Austin Shepherd caught on with the Vikings' practice squad after being cut from the Steelers' practice squad. Lot of guys injured, inactive and on bye weeks. Amari Cooper, Marcell Dareus and A'Shawn Robinson had really good weeks. Mark Ingram did not: fumble returned for a touchdown a week after fumbling in the fourth quarter, so it was like two fumbles in his last six or seven carries, and Tim Hightower replaced him the rest of the way vs. Seattle -- may have lost his starting job.

Anyway, here is a look at how former University of Alabama players in the National Football League performed in Week Eight:

Mark Barron, Los Angeles Rams safety, did not play (bye week).

James Carpenter, New York Jets guard, started vs. Cleveland.

HaHa Clinton-Dix, Green Bay Packers safety, made five tackles vs. Atlanta.

Landon Collins, New York Giants safety, did not play (bye week).

Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders receiver, caught 12 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown vs. Tampa Bay.

Marcell Dareus, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle, made four tackles, including two for loss, with a sack and a quarterback hurry vs. New England.

Quinton Dial, San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle, did not play (bye week).

Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins running back, did not play (bye week).

D.J. Fluker, San Diego Chargers guard, started vs. Denver.

Jalston Fowler, Tennessee Titans fullback, played vs. Jacksonville.

Roman Harper, New Orleans Saints safety, played vs. Seattle.

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans running back, rushed 16 times for 60 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 37 yards vs. Jacksonville.

Dont'a Hightower, New England Patriots linebacker, made six tackles with a quarterback hurry vs. Buffalo.

Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints running back, carried three times for 5 yards vs. Seattle.

Kareem Jackson, Houston Texans cornerback, made five tackles, including one for loss, and defended a pass vs. Detroit.

Rashad Johnson, Tennessee Titans safety, did not play (inactive).

Cyrus Jones, New England Patriots cornerback, did not play (inactive).

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons receiver, caught three passes for 29 yards vs. Green Bay.

Ryan Kelly, Indianapolis Colts center, started vs. Kansas City.

Kevin Norwood, San Diego Chargers receiver, did not play (practice squad).

D.J. Pettway, New Orleans Saints defensive lineman, did not play (reserve/injured).

Reggie Ragland, Buffalo Bills linebacker, did not play (reserve/injured).
