It's all about Blake and his daddy's EGO.
For the past 4-5 years, Blake has been told by his family and other "experts" that he is a NFL caliber QB, and he fully expected to become famous this year by being the starting QB for the best team in college football.
Naturally, both Blake and his dad think he deserves to be the Big Man on Campus, but unfortunately his performance didn't live up to their delusions of grandeur. He never imagined and is insulted with the label of "Back-Up Quarterback". Blake's daddy is obviously living his life thru his child and wasn't going to tolerate his son not being the starter.
Getting beat out by true freshman was just too big a hit to their egos. Something had to be done now. Blake was never here to be a team player. He was here to be in the limelight.
