So I was reflecting about Frieze's decision to kick deep after they had scored to close the gap to 5 points. I know the odds are way against recovering one onside kick, much less two, much less two within 30 seconds. I'm still glad he kicked deep because I so hate onside kicks where anything could happen. But I'm thinking that's why he should have done it.
For what did happen was that we ran the ball, pretty much as we had when we chose to all day, and not only made the necessary first downs, but made them convincingly--Bo's fumble notwithstanding. This, as much as anything all day, reminded me of the games I love best: when in the end, we can rely on our offense and running backs to seal the win...to thump the other team.
So, just thinking back about what might have been, and what WAS!
