With Missouri losing in Oxford tonight that will give us a 3.5 game lead once again.

Bama 11-1 (-)
Tenn. 7-4 (3.5)
Ark. 7-4 (3.5)
Missouri 6-4 (4)

Anything is possible, but it’s going to be pretty damn tuff to reel us in.

Roll Tide!!!!

I recall during the game telecast the announcers were talking about why Oats was still playing Herb Jones instead of resting him. Said Oats commented ‘we are trying to win a conference championship’. I agree with this. Personally, I don’t care anything about the team’s NCCA tourney seed right now. I’m all about that SEC championship too.

Yeah, while this loss is a big help to the Tide it was very surprising. Ole Miss completely mud holed the Tigers. I feel like Bama is getting everyone’s best game now. We definitely got Mizzou’s best game only to see them sh*t the bed against the Black Bears. Just wait, Georgia will look like Gonzaga on offense against the Tide on Saturday.

Nothing would surprise me going forward as Alabama looking vulnerable only helps to fire up their opponents. Last night's Ole Miss/ Mizzou game only further shows why you shouldn't over diagnose your team's road victories. Winning on the road is not easy.

Magic number is now 3 (Assuming the SEC doesn’t make up the missed games)

This is a little off topic, but I was listening to the UNF head basketball coach the other day on local sports radio here in Jax. He mentioned that there will likely be teams that don't need their conference tournaments to qualify for the NCAA tournament, who will choose to by-pass their conference tourney to minimize any risk of exposing their teams to COVID. @Harper41 have you heard anything similar?

Yes that will be a possibility. Teams like Gonzaga that would gain nothing by playing their conference championship may decide to sit out the tournament

Assuming we were to win the regular season championship going away and virtually lock up a 2 seed. Would you see any advantage to us opting out of the conference tourney citing COVID concerns, but in reality to give rest to the walking wounded?

So long as the regular season champion can qualify without winning the conference tournament, than yes they would. There is no automatic bid for a regular season champion.
This is true, but when is the last major regular season conference winner been left out of the 68 game tournament? It doesn’t happen. It would only, truly, potentially affect seeding for some(I highly doubt it would affect Gonzaga’s seeding).

IMO, Gonzaga should be penalized if they choose not to participate in their own tournament. Reminds me of OSU's easy road to the NCG.
I totally agree, but they will use the Covid backdrop as an excuse, and you darn well know some genius on here, and elsewhere, will back them up by saying “they truly care about their players health and safety more than others.” Shoot, CNN and ESPN will, probably, do a big cover story of how great an example they are trying to set for the rest of the uncaring schools.

If a teams regular season champion decides to sit out their conference tournament that leagues tournament champion will not get and automatic bid. The NCAA will put a stop to that in a hurry.
