Baseball ⚾️ First Round Upsets?

UCSB, Winthrop, Ohio U, Georgetown, Maryland, Rutgers. and I think Abilene Christian comes a twat hair from beating Texas. I think Michigan loses before a potential matchup with us.

Ohio U at least seems like a great pick to cover the spread. Not sure if Virginia has even been able to practice this week with all its Covid mess, and may be missing several players. Agreed on Winthrop and Rutgers as well. I want to pick UCSB but still waffling. I guess it's time to decide.

That particular region has me baffled. I'm not overly impressed with Virginia. I'm tempted to have USCMB and Ohio playing in the Sweet 16

Agree that it wouldn't be surprising to see Ohio and UMBC in the Round of 32 (or Creighton/UVA). Both games are really toss ups to me.

Yesterday morning I listened to a podcast with ESPN's Seth Greenberg and he talked about how well North Texas defends and expected a tight one with Purdue, so on a whim I picked the Mean Green in a few brackets. I didn't realize they were a not too sharp 18-9 coming in but got lucky with their win. I bet they give Villanova a pretty good game. Winthrop completely let me down. I'd never seen them play but loved what I read about them. It turned out their 6'7'' PG can shoot a shot further away than 2 feet, and they just weren't anywhere close on the talent needed to advance in the tournament.

Don't think anyone saw Oral freakin' Roberts coming, even with the nation's leading scorer. Throughout that game I told my buddy I was watching with that they play an awful lot like Bama. Move up the floor quickly and find a good shot quickly, and everyone can shoot. I think the guy that surprised me the most was their forward Kevin Obanor. About 6'6'' I guess and could shoot threes and shoots 88% from the FT line. I kept thinking "how is this guy at Oral Roberts". Ohio State definitely missed Kyle Young, and they had plenty of good looks at winning time to win the game but couldn't sink it when needed. Bye Bye Buckeyes.

Hoping Bama comes out hot and puts distance between us and the Gaels early.

So much parity in basketball because there are just so many good players! I mean you have non-ranked players across the country who are dropping 30 ppg in high school.

oral Roberts hurt me because I had OSU in my elite 8... although it was fun to see that upset.

I really rolled the dice on Winthrop and had them winning two rounds. Huge fail.
