Obviously everything I have been hearing for 2 months was right (never was going to bet my house on it), but I don't understand all of the fuss. Lyle Cain is our team doctor and is helping drive this deal. Lyle's son and one of the BIGGEST Bama legacies son are the same age and close friends....that is where the info comes from...hint hint. We have been saving a scholarship for this and it can only HELP our team. Coach Bryant (this guy knew Coach Bryant pretty well...lol) used to sign players to come in and compete (sometimes signed 7-8 QB's in a single class...moving them to db if they didn't win QB job) and many times did so because he DIDN'T WANT THEM TO GO TO OUR RIVALS. Why would we want him to go to LSU and take any chance for him to be a great QB and beat us. My bet is that Saban and Lane tell him that we want him to come here, get closer to 100%, and let him WORK HIS WAY IN to competing for the job. There could be special packages in for him and as the year goes on, he might be the player he used to be. WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE BY TAKING HIM. If we let him go somewhere else, it could come back to haunt us. This guy is a model type teammate and will at least be a great influence in the locker room. I am told that there are no guarantees for him to be the starter and that it would be a work-in-progress. It might take him all of training camp to get closer to full speed, but Cain is on top of this.
