Will JUNIOR get the calls tonight versus the CATS that he gets against every other team they play? He shot 21 FREEthrows last night. Go through the boxscore and check the incredible disparity of trips to the line for JUNIOR compared to all other players on both teams.

Check box scores of other Vandy games. You will see the same pattern. JUNIOR gets the calls.

I really got sick of seeing it last night. ANYTIME he went into the lane, he was going to the line. On the other end, our guards would get hammered and nothing....

I don't care if it is called tight, just keep it balanced on both ends. JUNIOR seems to get a lot of favor on the calls.

I'm glad you posted this because I made the same observation to my wife last night. Most of the broadcast featured Jr. Pippen on the FT line and Sr. Pippen in the stands. To make matters worse, Jr. actually initiates the foul by bumping into the defender and then flopping like he's been shot! Of course, our players have to make FTs when given the rare opportunity. We left a lot of $$$ on the table by missing FTs.

Pippen Jr is a great college basketball player and one of the best I've ever seen at drawing fouls. Did the refs miss some? Sure they did, but the overwhelming majority were legitimate fouls IMO.

I will tell you one thing they NEVER EVER call on Junior is his clear outs/hooks with his off ball hand/arm. He uses that leverage to pull through and push away then he falls off to the side to draw attention to it as if the defender created the contact. I saw it several times last night and I have seen him do it many other games against other teams.

He initiates the contact and then gets the benefit of the call......(pan camera to daddy Scottie nodding approval in the stands)

He has obviously been taught very well. He's a terrific player. As long as he's on the court Vandy has a chance against anyone. If he were on our team you would love him - and we would have won the game last night.

If they’re going to call the game the way they did there’s zero excuse for not calling the charge when he lowered the shoulder against Ellis at the end of the game.

I'll save my assessment of Junior until I see him play without getting the benefit of every call by the refs. He actually initiates the foul and the refs automatically call it on the defender time and time again. He's good, but he ain't all that!

That was the final straw for me. It's one thing to put the guy on the line every time somebody breathes on him, but to not call an obvious charge against him is over the top.

I would only POLITELY rebut that if the kid were not the beneficiary of so many calls, (1)we would not have had the foul issues that we had on the perimeter thus limiting minutes of Quinerly/Shack/Ellis and instead of Miles and Rojas out on the perimeter taking threes, it would have been one of these aforementioned starters.....and (2) Junior would not have added 15 points to their total at the freethrow line......and we would have won.

I looked back at the two games for the Dores versus the Cats. I see where Junior shot 8 freethrows in the 1st meeting and 12 in the second meeting.

In his first meeting with us, he shot 18 freethrows and last night he shot 21.

I think the kid is the beneficiary of marginal calls against the majority of teams they play BUT not against the CATS. It will be interesting to see how Cal reacts tonight if it starts down that path. I actually love Cal and love to watch him coach. It should be fun.

We can just agree to disagree...politely. :)

He is far from a great basketball player. He doesn't play the right way. He has a Harden style of just trying to get foul calls and seeks it out.

For tonight I'm all about Big Blue tearing Pippflop Jr a new one. I hope he loses his voice from whining and crying so much about fouls he's gotten used to getting called.

Unlike Oats, Cal will open up on the officials early and often if they call the game like last night. And he'll use every time out if he feels he needs it to remind his team of the kind of game Vandy is trying to play.

I'll add that Robbins is every bit as bad as Pippflop. Worse in some ways. Dude was probably overall the biggest player on the court but flopped a few times like he took a shot to the chest and acted like something awful happened. Then rolled around protecting his head and acted like he got hit with a bat when he fouled out. I hope Oscar gives him a reason or two to flop around like a euro world cup player so acting isn't necessary.

That whole team has that awful attitude/approach to the game. They weren't trying to play basketball, they were trying to work every angle to get to the foul line. Fishback called it out when we played in Nashville, that isn't good basketball and isn't what people want to watch at a basketball game.

Kentucky is going to curb stomp Vandy. Calipari is a great coach, and it will be like playing in Rupp. Vandy won't get the calls like they did last night. UK wrote the book on lopsided officiating.
