Every year a couple of weeks prior to the PLAYERS championship they invite 12 to 15 "Celebrities" to take a shot on the 17th Island Green at the TPC. They usually have a couple of Jaguars, media people and current or former PGA players. The winner wins $10,000 for their favorite charity. Tom Coughlin's "Jay's Fund" will receive the $10,000.00 The Golf Channel had 3 of their on - air personalities attempt the shot so I hope it will make it to TV. Their people hit 4 of 5 into the water.
Today the Jaguars mascot ... hit a shot in FULL costume to 4'9" to win. He then hit a driver from his knees to 15' again in costume. I was not there but have seen him play in costume and it is amazing. He and the Jaguars are working to get him in the Tahoe event. He played in an event this week in Bermuda ... and finished 3rd in full contact.
He is a scratch golfer and said his biggest problem playing in the suit is the heat and reading putts ...
