That '86/'87 team that won two in B'ham also played their round of 16 game in Louisville.

Bama basketball fans can be an interesting bunch in that we should be crazy excited about our team but some of us get caught up in ominous coincidences like this. Prior to this season, that '87 team was considered by many to be about the best Bama team ever or no worse than 1b behind one of the 70s teams. But they fell to a team that looked to have done us a favor by having an upset or two and knocking out teams that looked better on paper. Then the team got the flu and one kid for the other team just couldn't miss.

Here's to hoping that mojo is long dead and buried as this current team just looks and feels different from previous Bama teams and has proven this all season long when given the chance to mail it in when things aren't going well.

They may have before that game as well but I've heard Wimp mention many times that half the team was either sick or just getting over being sick on the day they played Providence in '87.
