Alabama is one of the most recent schools to offer 2016 four-star small forward Jonathan Isaac according to his travel team coach Steve Reece.
Isaac, is a slender 6-foot-8 SF with good length (6'11 wingspan), quickness and finishing ability to go along with his shooting skills. Isaac can hit shots from anywhere within 25 feet. He averaged 14.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in four games this past weekend for Each One Teach One (E1T1) Elite in session one of the Nike EYBL. Isaac recently transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.
Prior to this weekend, Florida State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State were the schools he was hearing from the most. However he is unsure of his status at MSU with the change in coaches there.
2016 small forward Troy Baxter text me late last night to say that Alabama has offered him as well. Baxter is one of, if not the most athletic players in Florida high school basketball. He is the prototypical run/jump athlete that is a terrific finisher in transition. Baxter is an improved shooter, particularly off the catch, but needs improvement with his ball handling. Defensively he relies on his athleticism more then sound fundamentals. He can play power forward as a 'stretch four' that creates mismatches on offense.
Baxter averaged 9.2 points and 4.2 rebounds for Team Breakdown in session one of the Under Armour Association.
Going into last weekend, Baxter's offers were Arizona State, FIU, South Florida, Tennessee and Kansas State. He picked up offers from Arkansas and Alabama on Monday.
