Last night he was very critical of continuing the season in the middle of a pandemic. His comments came immediately after an absolute beating at the hands of Illinois, which puts Duke at 2-2. Bad look, imo, to make these comments on the heels of a 2-2 start.

lou i actually heard him say back in september that it was insanity to tey and start the season at the regular time. he added that we need to shoot for May or June madness and forget March madness

if basketball gets shut down the schools and conferences will have to do it. the NCAA gets its money to operate from the big dance, another year with out the NCAA tournament will probably bankrupt them

His team sucks and now he says we shouldn't play due to the pandemic lmao. His butt gonna end up with a losing record, I wouldn't want to play either

I really do not understand his issue? NOBODY is forcing him to coach this year. He could opt out, and I would bet that Duke would still pay him, even if they didn’t, I find it hard to believe he would be left financially destitute, and you know he is not losing his job. NOBODY is forcing any of his assistants to coach. NOBODY is forcing any of his players to play. Any one of them can opt out and keep their scholarships, tutors, athletic dorm rooms, benefits, eligibility, etc. Also, what does he think will be different between starting the season now(ending in March madness) vs starting it in 2-3 months(May or June madness)? Even if the vaccine works, his players will not have received it in the next 2-3 months anyway. He is showing dramatic ignorance to me. He might as well come out and say they should just cancel this season, and, HOPEFULLY, BE ABLE to start next October. Either way, again, NOBODY is forcing him, any one on his staff, or any of his players to play.

Spot on post Lou. I saw him make those comments and thought the same thing. I bet if Duke had won the game he wouldn’t say diddley about playing during the pandemic.

I don't think basketball will last. If it makes it until Christmas, I think by mid January, it's done. If they can get the National Championship played in football, then they can put the brakes on basketball for a little while.

Do you ever have positive thoughts? You must be a hoot at parties.

Maybe everything is just negative in your eyes. Or maybe you forgot when I have a positive thought in your eyes, you still respond in some negative fashion. I enjoy the fact that you worry about me more than anything else on here.

Again the players are better of playing and practicing than spending all their time with unkown people that may have the virus. See LSU Halloween party .....
The Coach K fanboy hasn't acknowledged this. I don't know what's worse; making a dumb argument OR refusing to back off of it. Kids lol.

I like Coach Knight and Coach K. However, just because you are a legend doesn't mean you are always right. I think Basketball will be fine and I think that it's even safer than having the Football season. You have less players to manage. I think Coach K knew back in September his team might not have the goods.
