If we are picking kids from the portal

I would like some bigs that shoot 80% from the stripe. A lot of people point out our 3 point shooting being rough at the end of the year, but our FT percentage wasn't great in the last few games either. Chuck going 2-6 against, Maryland didn't hurt us. Pringle missing the front end of a 1-1 was a turnover when we couldn't have it. I love their games, but we got make some FTs when it matters.

Agreed. Unless they're averaging 10 dunks and 15 boards a game we need to be able to rely on making some free throws if we get them at a moment where we need points. We can't have one guy on the court that is the easy turnover at the foul line.

Somehow these two got worse as the year went on. Bediako wasn't good last year but he was at least 60% ish. Each of them look like someone wrecked their shot trying to correct a quirk and the frankenshot result is a 30% shooter with an awkward shot. I think each of them could/should be around 65 to 70%. Not good but not bad enough to have to hide in crunch time.

Free throws followed three point trajectory for many on the team as the season wound down. Maybe we're missing something midseason here that needs sorting out.

High 75-79% is pretty good for a big guy

It's not like that anymore since NIL came in to effect. I think this will be a tough year on Oats. He basically has to rebuild the program with 2 coaches and recruiting the portal.
