if we make

It’s unbelievable how many think it’s like football and one bad loss derails a season. In 2021, we lost to Western Kentucky and Stanford. This year we’ve lost 3 games to teams ranked in the top 40 of KenPom and you’d think we lost to UNA 3 times. This team is still a top 5-10 team. Just enjoy it

I don’t mind losing, especially to a Big 12 team on the road in the middle of conference play. Im just more confused on what our mindset is currently.

Top teams stop the bleeding after 1 game. We’ve played multiple bad games in a row now and we had zero energy today.

Did anyone watch the Tenn/Texas game? Tennessee plays with so much passion and emotion. Ziegler has more than our entire team.

Where’s the emotion? I’m tired of watching Bedi and Clowney pout all game. HAVE FUN WITH THE GAME

Tennessee played at home against a top 10 opponent of course they’re going to play with a ton of passion. Alabama plays with a ton of passion every game and it shows. One game where they lacked energy and people crucify them.

Kansas lost 3 in a row, Houston has been struggling, UCLA has been struggling. Alabama has 1 rough shooting game against Miss St and played poorly against OU and everyone wants to forget about starting the season 18-2 and all the good they did. Teams go through rough patches. They’ll be fine.

Win and the game thread has 35 posts. Lose and it has 116. I'd like to say it was good to see some of the old posters that have been hibernating all season but that'd be a lie. Hopefully we won't have to endure them many more times this season.

Man I love getting beat by 30 and playing poorly two games in a row. Or not. If that’s all of our attitudes, why even have this board?
Some of us like discussing sports, games, possessions, strategies, great performances, mistakes, etc. And this is suppose to be the place to do it. There are people that think the worlds ending. There are people that think it’s always great. There are some of us that are pessimists. And there are optimists.
If you’re going to post basketball info for the board and by those guys, then you gotta be able to suck up the bad when it comes. This board is for everyone to discuss it in their own way. You can’t tell people they can’t be fans off bc everything isn’t always roses for them.

You know I’m always down to discuss ball. I’ve always been a realist and discussed bad and good things. Am I typically an optimist? Yes because I don’t believe in being doom and gloom ALL the time. I’ll be negative when it’s time and positive a lot. I just try to encourage others to just enjoy times list this where fans have begged for a program to be in this good of shape. And you know the fans I’m referring to being the guys that never post unless we lose

But it’s like the principal called a faculty meeting to get on all of us bc two teachers are the issue.

18 and 3. top 5 team in the nation. undefeated in sec play. i like our chances going forward. roll tide

Every board has their few doomsday posters. I don’t think most posters have as big a problem with a loss, but how they lost. Getting beat worse than you have in 1/2 a decade to a mediocre team tends to do that. I wouldn’t call myself an optimist, but more a realist. I am not concerned with how we play vs a particular big as a real issue, but I am concerned with our outside shooting, which has been an issue for awhile now. I know good players can have small slumps, but the entire team looks like they are in a shooting slump, which is concerning. And some of these players are in something bigger than just a slump with their shooting, because it is beyond really bad with some(I don’t need to list the names, because we all know them). Bediako has, definitely, struggled lately too. The other concerning issue is that our defense has pulled us along thru these issues in the past, but the defensive effort seems to be really lacking lately. I have never bought the “freshman wall” crap either. These guys have been playing two games a week in the winter since jr high(I know I did), and I never was close to too tired at that age(at my age they will know tired). I am not stopping being a fan, heck I have stuck around for so long thru much worse than this, but these are legitimate concerns that, if we are being realistic in how we analyze the team, we can’t ignore or act like they don’t exist for more than just one game. Even Oats eluded to these same issues in his press conference. Hopefully we pull out of it quickly. This, also, points out something I have stated numerous times, and that is that all you can really hope for as a college BB fan in today’s environment is that you have a good enough team to be a true contender in the tournament, and just pray from there, because in BB anyone can beat anyone else in the tournament off one good or bad day. The Bama fans from the past really know this to be true.

When you lay an egg as big as they did today, you are going to get negative posts, and deservedly so. That is just a fact in any sport. The normally good posters even succumb it, but I have not seen one poster that I consider to be a really good/knowledgeable poster say “the season is lost or over” due to this. Just pointing out true concerns, which is why we are here.

Wimp talked a little this week about this point of the season and not practicing hard at all and just walking through and such. He thought it was a huge deal to give them some breaks. I wonder if he was thinking Bama players are tired bc he brought that up on his own this week.

I think they are tired. They haven’t looked like the same team getting up and down the court. Some of that is all the missed 3’s too. Our team feeds off scoring in bunches and putting the pressure on the other team. When we miss shots and don’t seize the momentum, our defensive effort isn’t as intense.

Has been a great season at 18-3 to this point but there is no excuse for the lack of intensity or effort yesterday. Do not mind they lost on the road to a Big 12 team/ but to be completely embarrassed and down by 33 with about 5 minutes left is 100% unacceptable. And it did not seem to bother them too much.
Team is tired? Are they any more tired than any other team in the country?
I understand the Darius Miles situation MAY be playing a bigger role now than what we thought. Hard to say.

But you have to come out and have some pride and remember what got you to this lofty ranking. It was almost like yesterday’s game really did not matter.

Again/ great season- Vandy on Tuesday will tell everyone a bunch about the rest of this season.

I think you hit it. We just need to make some adjustments and get back to it.

Oklahoma is not mediocre. People look at there record and say that. If look at their schedule and see how many top 25 teams they've played and the biggest loss is 6 points, that's not mediocre, don't let the record fool you.

Incorrect. TCU beat Oklahoma by 27 just this past Tuesday and unranked Oklahoma St beat them by 17 less than 2 weeks ago.

So let’s stop the sugar coating. They also lost this season to Sam Houston St.

They have had close games with Kansas, Baylor and Texas.

Let's remember that this is only one game. Kansas has already lost multiple times in a row and last year lost by almost 30 and then won the NC. Suggest we not hit the panic button unless this becomes a trend.

And Iowa st which is ranked, they had a bad game against TCU which was ranked. They are 1-5 against ranked teams. So they lost 4 games to top 25 teams by a total of 10 points. They win those games and they are 16-5. Once again you try to spin things so it fits your narrative, any time a Bama team loses you're here claiming how bad it is. On that winning streak you was hard to find.

Spun nothing. Just corrected your post which you made in error. Own it and move on.

Have complimented the team quite a bit this season. Look harder.

Oklahoma is probably better than all but 1 team remaining on our schedule
They’re definitely not better than Tennessee. Arkansas beat the Sooners fairly handily on a neutral court. I don’t like the boogs, but I think they’re better than Oklahoma. Texas A & M would beat Oklahoma IMO.

Arkansas had nick Smith when they beat Oklahoma. I don't think auburn is particularly good and I think Oklahoma is underrated but these are all just personal opinions

The way Oklahoma was shooting Saturday, l doubt any of the teams named above would have beat them. Maybe on another day, but not as hot as they were Saturday.

Naturally they picked the Bama game to shoot like all stars. If they played that way every game, they would be undefeated.
